- Does it install and open? Plenty of apps making the rounds right now will not even launch on current Fire OS.
- Is Amazon blocking it? Several popular names are blocked on Fire TV right now, and plenty of guides still recommend them.
- Do the links play? We load actual titles and watch them, both on free sources and with a debrid service connected.
- Does debrid integration work? An app can claim TorBox, Real-Debrid, or Premiumize support and still fail to pass links through.
- How heavy are the ads? Marketing copy says ad-free far more often than the app is.
- Is the file clean? We run the APK through VirusTotal before recommending it.
We re-check this list monthly and pull apps once they stop working, which is why entries come off this page instead of sitting here with a refreshed date on top.

This APK is a little different than most as it requires signing up for service (it’s free). However, this is a plus because everything syncs across all devices where you install the application! Once you setup one device with Stremio, you can access the same setup on other systems by simply installing the app and logging in.
There are no ads and the application is 100% free!
Because Stremio requires registration, your content will sync across all devices and be accessible on any platform. Stremio offers addons similar to Kodi that users can install for Movies, Shows, and more.
What sets this apart from the other ranked APKs is that it’s free, user interface is excellent, and debrid services are optional. Users don’t need to subscribe to a premium debrid service as there are some great addons that pull in 4K and 1080p movies and TV shows without it. 2. Nuvio
Nuvio is the latest media hub to hit the cord-cutting scene and it’s already turning heads. After testing we consider it the best new APK to arrive in quite some time.
What sets this app apart from every other choice on our list is the user profile system, which lets you create separate profiles with their own add-ons, plugins, and watch history under one free account.
The app accepts both Stremio add-ons and its own Plugin system that scrapes provider repositories for direct HD links. Your free dashboard on Nuvio’s website lets you manage everything from a browser and sync it to your Fire TV, Android TV box, or phone instantly.
Nuvio is still in Beta but performance is already impressive with fast navigation and quick source loading. The app is free, ad-free, and available on Fire TV, Android TV/Google TV, Android mobile devices, and iOS.
3. Kodi
Kodi is still one of the most popular choices for free movies, Shows, documentaries, adult content, and more. Some people don’t refer to this app as an APK because you need to install additional 3rd party addons to get the free content. (Or a Kodi Build if you prefer)
Kodi is free and does not contain any advertisements within the application.
Kodi is not available in the Amazon App Store which means users must sideload the application on Firestick and Fire TV devices. Installing Kodi is simple on most Android-based systems. Simply search the Google Play store for Kodi and click the download button. 4. STRMR
Brand new to our list of Best APKs, STRMR is a full fledged application that combines the power of debrid providers and Stremio Addons to serve up VOD content.
With a polished user interface and personal dashboard, you can easily configure the APK to suit your streaming needs for any device including Firestick/Fire TV which was previously incompatible.
One “flaw” with STRMR is that a Google sign in is needed to access the app, however, users can easily setup a secondary account with anonymous information to bypass this requirement.
5. Syncler
Syncler works similarly to Kodi or Stremio in the sense that you must install outside providers/addons to access the content. Although this app does require, TorBox, Premiumize, Real-Debrid, or other unrestricted downloading service for use, this means that there will be no lag during playback. Users will also have access to high quality 4K and 1080p streams.
Just like Stremio, users have the ability to sign-in which means that everything syncs across multiple devices.

Why Free APKs Aren’t Worth Your Time
Cord cutters chase the next free movie APK every few weeks. The links break, the app stops opening, or Amazon blocks it on Fire TV, and then the cycle starts again.
Even the app stores that hosted them aren’t safe. APKTime shut down in June 2026 after a decade, with its founders pointing users to TROYPOINT.
That’s the problem with these ‘crap apps’ like BeeTV, FilmPlus, TeaTV, Flix Vision, and the dozens of others. There’s unreliable development, security risks, annoying ads, broken streaming links, and hours wasted hunting down a working APK file every time something breaks.
The fix is simple:
- Install one of our top five APKs above like Stremio
- Pay less than $5/month for a debrid service like TorBox
- Pay less than $3/month for a secure VPN like Surfshark
Then you’re set. Better streams, no buffering, no malware, and nothing for Amazon to block. All for less than half the cost of one premium streaming service.

Other Popular APKs Among Cord Cutters
Below are some of the other free APKs you’ll see floating around the cord-cutting community. Most fall into the “crap app” category we just covered, but we’re including them so you know what they are when you see them recommended elsewhere.
BeeTV
BeeTV has been one of the most cloned apps in the cord-cutting space. The version most people install today is a fork of a fork, with no clear developer behind it and no real roadmap.
Ads are heavy, malware reports pop up regularly, and Amazon is currently blocking it on Fire TV. Some Insiders still use it on Android boxes paired with a debrid service, but for most people Stremio is the smarter swap.
Streamflix
If you have ever heard of SFlix, the free movie website, you may be interested in checking out Streamflix that looks to be from the same developers.
Unlike other options on our list of best APKs, Streamflix offers different provider sources to choose from so you don’t have to locate these and can simply select one of the choices provided.
One of the biggest features available is the auto play capabilities that are built right in so you won’t have to guess when choosing a link and your playback will begin immediately. This one is definitely worth giving a shot!
CloudStream
CloudStream is an open-source app that works like Kodi or Stremio, using repositories and extensions that scrape the web for movies, shows, anime, live TV, and torrents. It’s completely free, supports Real-Debrid, TorBox, and Premiumize for better links, and runs on Fire TV, Google TV, Android boxes, and phones.
Unlike most of the throwaway apps in this section, CloudStream stays in active development and its official APK scanned clean on VirusTotal. Because many sources pull from torrents, a VPN is strongly recommended here.
Stremize
Stremize is an all-in-one app that pairs video-on-demand with live TV, works with every major debrid service, and supports third-party Stremio add-ons like Torrentio plus M3U and Xtream Codes playlists. The movie and show side works well once debrid is connected, but the live TV portion is unreliable, so we wouldn’t lean on it for IPTV.
There’s no free tier here. Stremize runs on a premium subscription after a 7-day trial (no card required), with Solo, Home, and Zone plans depending on how many devices you need.
Cinema HQ
Cinema HQ is a newer entry that’s been getting attention as a Cinema HD replacement. The developers do push regular updates and keep an open change log.
That said, free links buffer often and the app sits in the same legal gray zone as the others in this section. It’s a step above abandoned forks but still not something we’d recommend over Stremio or Nuvio.
Arvio
Arvio is a media hub in the same vein as Stremio and Nuvio, with user profiles, Stremio addon support, M3U playlists, and cloud sync across your devices. It’s free to install and then you create a profile and load your add-ons.
Arvio gets regular updates and the interface is clean, but live TV doesn’t work properly yet and you’ll hit occasional lag and minor bugs. It’s a solid free option to watch for anyone who lost OnStream.
Weyd
Weyd is similar to Syncler in that you must use one of the popular debrid services for it to function properly.
Many people like Weyd due to it’s minimalist user interface and ease of use. Once everything is setup, it just works.
One major feature that is missing from Weyd is the ability to sign-in which both Stremio and Syncler have. We like the sign-in option so users can sync everything across all devices.
Reezn
Reezn is a free app for movies, TV shows, live channels, sports, and Arabic drama that picked up steam as an OnStream alternative after that app stopped working. The V2 release landed in February 2026 with a cleaner interface, and there’s an optional $10/year tier that strips the ads.
Two things to know before you install. Reezn has no debrid or Trakt support, so you’re stuck with free links that buffer often.
Flix Vision
Flix Vision tries to be an all-in-one option for Movies, Shows, and Live content. It pulls free links directly from public sources and supports debrid integration for users who already have a subscription.
The bigger issue is reliability. Free links break often, ads have crept back in over the past year, and Amazon is actively blocking it on Fire TV devices. If you’ve been relying on Flix Vision, this is a good time to switch to one of the top five.

CinePlus
CinePlus is one of the newer BeeTV clones, offering movies, shows, and anime through a familiar interface, but it requires the Fluid Video Player to stream anything. It claims Real-Debrid, Premiumize, and AllDebrid support, but the integration didn’t work well in our testing, and the ads are heavy despite marketing that says otherwise.
This one falls squarely into the “crap app” bucket and will likely disappear as fast as it arrived, so we’d point you to Stremio or Nuvio instead.
FilmPlus
FilmPlus is another Terrarium TV fork that’s been passed around for years. It still loads links in some setups, but ads are constant and Amazon is blocking it on Fire TV alongside the rest of this group.
The familiar interface is the only thing keeping it on most “best of” roundups. Free links are unreliable without a debrid service connected, and at that point Stremio or Nuvio will give you a far better experience.

Debrid Stream
Debrid Stream is a premium selection that requires a “Pro” Membership in order to find streams. You must also have a subscription to a debrid service as well.
Currently, this feature costs $2.49/month or $21.39/year and this high price is why we don’t recommend it. Remember, you can get Stremio for free so why in the world would you pay for this!
Similar to Stremio, addons must be integrated within your user panel and this is where the real power of Debrid Stream comes from.
Viva TV
Viva is another well-known VOD platform that has been around for quite some time. Currently, it is working fabulously with tons of HD links including 1080p and 4k. Real-debrid and trakt capabilities are both available as well as subtitles, an external player, and more. Viva also has a unique interface that is sure to please cord-cutters of all types.
There are various categories that help filter your content options and navigation is extremely simple on both Firestick devices as well as Android/Google TV Boxes.

Ocean Streamz
Ocean Streamz is one of the newer app on this list that provides movies, shows, and live channels. That’s right, besides VOD Content, Ocean Streamz also has live TV options which we do not see with many other choices in this list.
However, those using it for Video on Demand oftentimes pair this with a cloud source and Trakt within the settings. The best parts about Ocean Streamz include its friendly user-interface, simple navigation, categories, and more. After making a content selection, there are tons of links available in high definition.

SStream APK
Another fresh option to hit the cord cutting scene is SStream for viewing Movies and Shows in high definition. We would compare this one to FilmPlus due to its simplicity as there are not as many features provided as you might see with other platforms.
Users can add an external video player including MX Player which we show how to do in our set up guide. There are free links but as with any other application, we recommend integrating a premium resolving service for best results.

Flixoid
For a simple, easy-to-use app for Movies and Shows, you can’t overlook Flixoid. While it is fairly new, it has made vast improvements in quality and appearance. Users can choose between various categories for tons of content options.
Users can integrate a debrid service and trakt which will help make it an all-inclusive media powerhouse. Flixoid also has the ability use an external video player which will reduce lag for a smoother viewing experience.

What are the best apps to download on a jailbroken Firestick?
Start with Stremio, Nuvio, and Kodi. Stremio and Nuvio work as soon as you add your add-ons, while Kodi needs third-party addons or a build before it streams anything. You will also want the Downloader app from the Amazon App Store, which is the easiest way to sideload the rest.
Which Firesticks allow 3rd party apps?
The Fire TV Stick Lite, 4K, 4K Plus, 4K Max, and every Fire TV Cube run Fire OS, which is built on Android, so they install APK files through the Downloader app. The exceptions are the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2nd generation Fire TV Stick HD, which run Amazon’s Vega OS and cannot sideload at all, so avoid those two if you plan to install third-party apps.
Are Streaming APKs Legal?
There is no way for us to determine whether or not 3rd party APKs carry the proper licensing. We recommend only accessing media not protected by copyright such as those that fall under Public Domain status. The end-user is responsible for all content accessed through unverified apps. What replaced BeeTV on Firestick?
Nothing officially replaced BeeTV. Stremio and Nuvio are where most of our Insiders went, and both install on Firestick for free. If you liked BeeTV because it found links for you without much setup, Nuvio will feel closest, since its Plugin system pulls in sources automatically once you add them from your dashboard.
What’s the best live TV APK?
For live channels, a paid live TV service paired with a player app is far more dependable than any free APK. The free apps on this page that advertise live TV, including Stremize and Arvio, have weak live sections even when their movie and show side works well. Free live channels tend to go down without warning because the sources behind them disappear.
Are APK files safe to install?
An APK file is only as safe as the place you downloaded it from. The format itself is just an installer, the same one Google Play uses, so the file type tells you nothing about the contents. The risk comes from grabbing a modified build off a random site. We run the apps on this page through VirusTotal before recommending them, though a scan is one signal rather than a guarantee, and a VPN is still worth running.

Most new cord-cutters start with Kodi, but most eventually settle into Stremio, Nuvio, or one of the other top picks above. The setup is easier, the interfaces are cleaner, and you avoid the constant cycle of broken APKs and Amazon blocks.
