Yes.
can a fire stick be used on an old not flat screen tv?
You would need to purchase HDMI to RCA (Red, yellow, white wires) converter (about $15). Plug the fire stick into the HDMI adapter and plug the RCA adapter into your old-style tv.
Firesticks and most boxes require a HDMI connection to the TV. Now, that being said, you can find HDMI to RCA (which are the red/white/yellow plugs) on the back of most TV’s. At worst, you can further convert to RCA to Channel 3 via a Modulator. (it is easier to get a cheap flat screen!)
If the old TV has an HDMI port you should be OK. If it is an really old TV with just AV (3 round ports that are usually yellow, red and white on the inside) connections you will need a HDMI to AV converter.
Maybe if you have hmdi connections on tv
