This Formuler Z11 Pro Max Review was created by Troy after using it on a regular basis for over two weeks. This Android TV Box was purchased by Troy and was not provided as a gift from the manufacturer.
This review is unbiased and you will see that I point out both the good and bad regarding this Android TV Box. Formuler did not have access to this post prior to publishing.
Below, you will find an in-depth review that will provide you with the information that you need prior to purchasing.
Note: There have been numerous updates since my first review of this device and the following information was updated on 3/27/2024. In the updated review I’m using the Z11 Pro Max that comes with the BT1 Voice Assistant remote control.
Introducing Formuler Z11 Pro Max. The fastest and most advanced Formuler yet. Experience media and games on your TV like never before with Android 11 OS and 6th generation wireless AX connectivity. Unlock premium and Ultra High-Definition OTT contents with Embedded Widevine Level 1 DRM.
There are two versions of this device and the only thing that sets them apart are the remote controls that are included. Do yourself a favor and purchase the Z11 Pro Max BT1 which comes with the Bluetooth voice assistant remote. All of the purchase links on this page point to the BT1 offer. The other model that sells for $20 less is equipped with an infrared remote that you will want not part of.
I’ve always been impressed by Formuler as they produce high quality Android TV systems and they provide ongoing updates which is rare to see with these “generic Android TV Boxes”. I say generic because Formuler isn’t one of the big players like Amazon, Google, or NVIDIA.
You can find the basic features of this Android TV Box by looking at the list above. I won’t dive into each of those because many of them are self explanatory.
Here are some FAQs that many of you will have so I will start with those.
Can I side-load apps onto the new Formuler Z11 Pro Max such as Kodi?
Answer: Yes
Can I play 4K video?
Answer: Yes

Answer: This device is not licensed to play high quality Netflix content. Yes, there are some Netflix apps that you can side-load but if you are a heavy Netflix user, I wouldn’t recommend the Formuler Z11 Pro Max.
There’s no question that Formuler is catering to the IPTV service crowd with the Z11 Pro Max and their past devices as well.
If you’re not using an IPTV service that comes with M3U or Xtream Codes setup, this device isn’t for you. Both the actual box and remote are specifically designed to be used in conjunction with the integrated MYTVOnline3 IPTV application.
Also, this Android TV Box is not Netflix Certified so if you’re a heavy Netflix user, I would stick with the big names such as Amazon, Google, NVIDIA, etc.
If you use IPTV and various free streaming APKs this might be the perfect Android streaming system for you.
Customizable User Interface / Launcher
The launcher that comes with the Formuler Z11 Pro Max is somewhat customizable and displays no ads.
This is a simple user interface that provides everything that you need on one screen.
You can setup two custom groups on the home screen and include specific apps within them.
You can also set a different background image.
The main launcher feature that I like best is the ability to display your favorite IPTV channels or recent ones you’ve watched. The Favorite TV section is sorted based on how your favorites are ordered in the MYTVOnline3 IPTV application. A simple click on your home screen takes you right to your favorite channel.
Unfortunately, you can’t use 3rd party custom launchers, such as Wolf on the Z11 Pro Max.
There’s definitely room for improvement with the launcher that comes with the Formuler Z11 Pro Max. I wish they would provide additional customization options and I think this would be a huge selling point for the device.
Even if I could install a 3rd party launcher, I’m not sure that I would use it as this one suits my needs. It allows for easy reordering of applications and provides two extra app sections which is good enough for me. Users can also launch their favorite TV channels and VOD movies and TV shows directly from the home screen.
MYTVOnline3 IPTV App
MYTVOnline3 is the meat and potatoes of the Formuler Z11 Pro Max.
This is an IPTV application meant for those who use IPTV services that come with Xtream Codes or M3U setup instructions. When you register for an IPTV service, you will be provided with these codes upon registration. These details are usually found in an email that you receive following registration.
You can’t install this application on any other Android-based system. It’s specifically meant for Formuler devices and the new version can only be installed on the new Z11 Pro Max and Z11 Pro. I’ve tried side-loading the new version on an older Formuler device and it doesn’t work.
This application comes packed with features that integrate nicely with the included remote control.
IPTV Service Setup
Setting up an IPTV service in MYTVOnline3 is simple.
You will see a wizard that walks you through setup and it provides you with the ability to hide various groups from the start. This is a nice touch because most IPTV services include channels from other countries that we will never watch. The Formuler Z11 Pro Max allows us to hide the channels that we don’t want to see right from the start.
You also have the ability to hide VOD (Video on Demand) groups and TV series groups if your IPTV service comes with a VOD library.
Pinning & Grouping
The application also provides nice organizational tools such as pinning an grouping.
You can pin various groups of channels and those will be displayed at the top of the channel list.
You can also create various groups which is extremely handy for those of you who have a lot of favorites. You can split those favorites into custom groups such as News, Movies, Sports, or whatever you want to name them!
Multiple IPTV Services at Once
The new MYTVOnline3 app does allow users to setup multiple IPTV services and see all of them on the same screen.
Sometimes it’s difficult seeing exactly which service you are using because they don’t do a great job of displaying the name of the service on the channel lists.
To make things easier, I pinned my primary (favorite) IPTV service groups so they would show up at the top of the channel list and this seems to be a good way to ensure I’m using my most reliable service.
Recording
Even though the Formuler Z11 Pro Max comes with 32 GB of internal storage, if you want to record, you must use a USB drive, Micro SD card, or network storage. I’m not a big fan of this as the reliability of external media isn’t as good as internal storage.
The Formuler Z11 Pro Max does support NTFS drives which is great because that solves the 4 GB Android limit on FAT32 drives.
The recording options provide everything that you need such as season recording (frequency), one-time recording, custom recording, and more.
Formuler has done an excellent job on the features that they offer through the recording functionality.
The only thing I would change is allowing for recording to internal storage.
Eye Candy
I’m impressed with how nice everything looks within the new MYTVOnline3 application.
The designers have done a fabulous job making MYTVOnline3 look like something from the future.
What’s New in Version 3
If you’ve ever owned a Formuler Android TV Box you probably want to know what features are new in the MYTVOnline3 application.
Here’s a rundown for you.
Application Redesign
The following picture speaks for itself…
Pinned Groups
Pinned groups allow you to move your favorite groups to the top of the list for quick and easy access.
Universal Search
Search across all areas of the MYTVOnline3 app including TV Channels, TV Programs, VOD, TV Series, Radio, Recordings, and Schedule.
The MYTVOnline3 new Notification system makes it easy to check and track events and new updates.
Backup & Restore
Backup your app data and settings to external storage for safe keeping. Restore the backup to your device or another device when needed.
Picture-In-Picture
Watch two live events simultaneously and smoothly on TV screen.
Timeshift
Enable to pause and rewind live TV. Restart the current live program from the beginning.
Watch One While Recording Another
Record a program while watching another. This requires multiple connections provided by your IPTV provider if you want to watch and record at the same time.
As mentioned earlier, the MYTVOnline3 app goes hand-in-hand with the remote control.
There are specific buttons on the remote that coincide with features found in the IPTV app such as marking favorites, opening groups, guide, and more.
The remote control comes with a dedicated app that allows you to set hotkeys that will perform various functions. The most popular will be adding hotkeys to open your favorite applications.
One hidden function is the use of an air-mouse that is handy for apps not made for the television experience.
You can also setup the remote to control volume and power on your TV, soundbar, or projector. I setup volume control on my LG television and it works great. I don’t see the option for controlling input though.
As mentioned earlier, the remote that comes with the basic Formuler Z11 Pro Max is not Bluetooth, it’s IR. Make sure that you order the Z11 Pro Max BT1 which comes with the Bluetooth Voice Assistant Remote.
All-in-all, I really like the BT1 remote control. Google Voice Assistant works as it should and there are numerous buttons that can be customized to your liking.
TiviMate Integration
Some of you may not like the MYTVOnline3 application and you will prefer using TiviMate instead.
I tested TiviMate on the Formuler Z11 Pro Max and it works great.
The extra buttons on the remote are automatically mapped to perform various functions which is nice to see! Some buttons on the remote don’t work inside TiviMate but the majority do.
The nice thing about using TiviMate is that you can record to internal storage and I had no problems doing that.
In my opinion, the biggest negative to using TiviMate on the Formuler Z11 Pro Max is that your favorite channels in TiviMate won’t show up on the launcher (home screen). I’m not sure if I would purchase this device if I weren’t going to use their MYTVOnline3 IPTV application. The Z11 Pro Max is built around their proprietary app. Using something other than their IPTV app would be like going to Pizza Hut and ordering a salad.
The Formuler Z11 Pro Max allows for you setting up network storage.
I tested this by connecting to a Windows machine on the same network and it worked as it should.
By doing this, you have the ability to push IPTV recordings to your network storage rather than record on USB or Micro SD card.
I’m sure there are other uses for this as well when using various apps such as Kodi or various File Explorers such as ES File Explorer.
32 GB Internal Storage
The biggest gripe we see with most streaming devices is the lack of internal storage.
The Formuler Z11 Pro Max comes with 32 GB of internal storage which is more than enough to house your apps and games.
I tried expanding internal storage with a USB drive. The process seemed to work but there was no way to move apps to external drive so it appears that this isn’t working properly. Not a negative because 32 GB should be plenty of storage for apps and games. Keep in mind that you can always use a USB drive or micro SD card for external storage, you just can’t install apps onto them.
Gigabit Ethernet
The Z11 Pro Max comes with Gigabit Ethernet which is extremely important to many cord cutters.
Not only will you receive faster download speeds but your internal network transfers will be faster as well. Perfect for those of you who use Plex Media Server or something else to consume media within your home network.
Android TV Google Play Store
Most generic Android Boxes come with stock Android and not Android TV. Stock Android is the same operating system that runs on phones and tablets. It’s not really meant for the TV screen.
It appears that the Formuler Z11 Pro Max is using a hybrid of the two but it’s important to point out that you have access to the Android TV Google Play Store.
This is important because you want the app store that serves up application that are going to display properly on the TV screen.
Very happy to see Android TV Google Play on the Formuler Z11 Pro Max!
Formuler Z11 Pro Max Software Updates
Formuler offers continual updates that fixes bugs and sometimes adds new features.
This is a big one in my book as it helps future-proof the device.
Most generic Android TV Box manufacturers don’t issue updates and that’s the main reason why I’ve stopped reviewing them.
You will find both system updates and remote control updates as well.
The remote updates can be found within the Formuler Remote App.
Download / Upload Speeds
I used the Analiti Speed test app for the following tests.
I have one GB Fiber download speed plan through my Internet Service Provider.
During the WiFi tests, I am connected to the 5Ghz band on my Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 Router. This router resides in the same room as my Formuler Z11 Pro Max (approximately 20 feet away from the wireless router).
I’m using Surfshark VPN as my VPN on Chicago Server.
Gigabit Ethernet
VPN On: Download = 192 Mbps & Upload = 163 Mbps
VPN Off: Download = 818 Mbps & Upload = 574 Mbps
WiFi
VPN On: Download = 176 Mbps & Upload = 122 Mbps
VPN Off: Download = 307 Mbps & Upload = 193 Mbps
As you can see above, the system comes with strong WiFi and Gigabit speeds.
Running a VPN always slows down both download/upload speeds due to encryption and tunneling traffic through an outside server.
Over the air updates to squash bugs and provide new features
What I Dislike
Would like to see more customization options for launcher
Can’t record to internal storage with MYTVOnline3 app – must be external storage or network storage
Formuler Z11 Pro Max Final Thoughts
I’m not a big fan of “generic” Android TV Boxes but this is definitely an exception.
Formuler is a well-known manufacturer that offers ongoing support through periodic over the air updates.
Yes, this device costs more than most streaming devices but you definitely get what you pay for. Also, keep in mind that Formuler can’t sell these devices at a loss like many of the big brands can.
Formuler has also released a less expensive Z11 Pro but it comes with less RAM and storage. In my opinion, if you’re going to spend this much money on a streaming device, you should try to future-proof it as much as possible.
If you’re a big TiviMate user, I’m not sure that I would purchase this device. Like I mentioned earlier, this system is built around the MYTVOnline3 IPTV app and is one of the main reasons IPTV users would be interested in it. Both TiviMate and MYTVOnline3 are excellent IPTV apps and it comes down to personal preference on what you like the best.
I’m a big TiviMate user and I have it installed on all of my devices. But, after using MYTVOnline3 for the past few weeks, I’ve gotten familiar with it and like it just as much as TiviMate if not a bit more. As with everything in life, it takes getting used to before forming an opinion.
The Z11 Pro Max cures the common pain points found on most streaming devices.
Plenty of expansion opportunities (USB slots and Micro SD Slot)
If you want to break free from the big tech companies and their streaming systems, this device is for you. They’ve future-proofed it in many areas and their continual updates should keep it running at peak performance for a long time to come.
If you’re an IPTV user and also enjoy using free APKs, I’m confident that you will like the Z11 Pro Max.

july 21 2026. When I got this box a year and a half ago it was great. You can uninstall all google apps. Now you can’t. With every update this box has gotten so much worse. Now it’s buggy as heck, cant uninstall any google apps and they are trying to stop you from using the developer options. They are trying to protect their precious mytvonline app. I should take a pic of every window in the mytvonline app and let a.i. code it out for me. Have my own app. They are also stopping you from using adb shells. All this can be seen in the formuler support forum. So many new people on it all with problems with these boxes. I would stay away from this box now. When I first got it I was raving about how great this box is, now I consider it a waste of money. I had to install netguard so I get no more updates. The last update caused audio sync to go out every now and again. To fix the problem you have to restart the box so instead of turning off in stand by mode I now power it off. You should update this review.
Based on your review I purchased Z 12promax. Sadly, after working with it for 24 hours I am returning it.
First, an instruction manual is non existent. 2nd the remote comes with no instructions and Neanderthal in design. Customer service is non existent. I don’t want to spend a week learning how it works. I have always trusted and appreciated Troy’s reviews but with this one I think you really missed the mark by giving it a “great.”
Good thing to return it. Just go to the formuler support forum and check out all the new people that joined with problems with this box now. This box is now a complete waste of money.
I used the link to purchase supplied here. Took me to formulerus.com.

OK for years I have loved the Formuler boxes their software then after TiviMate app was found that little app blew their software away ,now the MyTvOnline 3 was a step in the right direction but they fell short again with TiviMate app winning out. What is the use of having a box that allows multiple server connections and editing of channels love all that the down side of their software is you can only record 1 channel a @ a time thats bullshit WHY would you limit that?? with TiviMate app I can record 3-7 shows at the same time from 2-4 different servers now if Formuler could resolve that issue they would be the KING.
Also another issue NAS never stays connected without a solid connection no recording, bummer TiviMate allows an SMB connection to my gas and it has never failed me always connected for backups and recording.. I always end up running TiviMate on the Formuler boxes till they get some decent software..
I have had my Formuler Z11 Pro Max for a couple of months now and love it overall. First thing is you can keep google out of it, it doesn’t force you to log in to google like my Kinhank G1 box does. Although you can’t use google play with this box by not allowing google in to it, it’s not a problem really as sideloading works great. I love the updates it has gotten so far & has been some nice improvements on being able to arrange your apps how you want them plus launcher improvements. I have the TiviMate premium version and in comparison I like it better overall than the Mytvonline3 app, but it’s extremely close to it in workability & in comparison, and performs equally well in my opinion. I would love to see an improvement in both of these apps for buffering ahead adjustment as I have slower internet and have some buffering issues at times, although minimal and not too bothersome. The OTT app is nice for better adjustment but I don’t care for it’s overall design/channel access. With all these Android boxes especially in the cheap versions with built in malware in the firmware I do have concerns especially with the updating that it may be an issue possibly with installing malware in this box that is undetectable but to date I can’t find anyone that has fully tested the firmware to know nor do I know how to do this myself. I would also love to get a good virus scanner besides the 2.5 virus scanner that is available that is box friendly like the Eset security from google play that works well for the Kinhank G1 box that is workable for the Z11 Pro Max. Be careful with Flixvision app as the newest version is trojan malware infected, I had to use an older version to keep away from this issue, and lock it from updating. I accidently bought mine with the infrared version remote, but Amazon has the BT1 version for 30 bucks so I bought it and use the IR one for a spare. One thing on the IR version is my Sony 90 series bravia won’t connect (pair) for using the power/volume up down at all and I followed the steps to the letter. On my BT1 it works perfectly and will turn off everything with top right button, but turning on I have to hit both tv top left button and top right to get all turned on, no biggie. Love the remote app for setting things the way you want for the both of the remotes but quickly discovered the BT1 bluetooth remote is the best way to go. As always be religious to use a VPN 24/7 & check everything you download for bugs. Cheers!
Hi
I’ve been getting great advice from you regarding Kodi and streaming in general for a while now (my go-to place) and appreciate it – thank you. I was looking at the z11 pro max and the Nvidia shield as an alternative to the 4k max firestick. I use the firestick with tivimate and am quite happy with it – not perfect but what is. Really I just fancy toying with something else with a hope it might just be better. But what would your reccomendation be Z11 prom max or Nvidia shield Tv Pro?
Hi there, we appreciate you being here! Both are very solid devices and when it comes to live TV we have the Z11 pro Max ranked ahead of the NVIDIA Shield – https://troypoint.com/iptv-box/
what 3rd party ILLUMINATED remote will work with this guy?
I cant believe at this price they dont supply an illuminated remote..
and, that illuminated “keyboard” thats included is a joke, half the basic functions, like DOWN on the D button wont move the cursor down..
thanks!
“Yes, there are some Netflix apps that you can side-load but if you are a heavy Netflix user, I wouldn’t recommend the Formuler Z11 Pro Max.”
I can’t stand reviews which make statements like this but don’t spill the beans.
I’m not a heavy Netflix user.
I’m a light Netflix user.
Where are these “some apps”?
My Z11 Pro Max is the most expensive paperweight I’ve ever had on my desk because of this, at a time when IPTV and Netflix play nicely on much cheaper devices.
If you do not want to share how a half-broken Netflix app could work on this device, it might be cooler to remove the reference to it altogether.
I was considering a Formuler, but went with a Homantic box R 4K Plus which also has 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM. I’m happy, but it really was a toss up.
Great reviews Troy! You are appreciated. I use your toolbox A LOT! Even got Surfshark because of you and love it!
Hi Troy – I have recently purchased the Z11 Pro Max & slowly becoming familiar with its many features – very clever piece of kit.
My main IPTV supplier does not give out m3u or straight url – comes as a tiny url – not recognised by MTO3 – so I have to use Downloader to put on Z11 outside the MTO3. I have an external 1Tb WD hdd for recording to – but my IPTV only sees the internal memory. Is there a way to get the Z11 to enable the external hdd visible / usable by my ‘other’ IPTV?
It is visible within the MTO3 & works on another IPTV loaded there
I am a 100% Apple person. Meaning that I use Bitdefender VPN and have never used Google play, etc. I have Comcast for internet and eero as the mesh wifi routers.
Other than the Android learning curve, would this device and the IPTV service work for me?
Many thanks.
Greetins.. looking for a new android fully loaded tv box. The one I have now is the Tanggula elite max and it stop working it will no longer boot up after only 1year of use. Tanggula will not fix or replace this box because I’m 3weeks over there warranty. So my request what are your or anyone suggestion on a replacement box. Buzz tv x5 or this box. The box must have all the sports..NFL..Ncaaf football and basketball etc. and be able to watch live tv shows like news channels such as News nation..Cnn .. Msnbc etc as well as my local channels. Please advise. Thanks Troy for your reply in advance. Cheers!!
If you’re considering purchasing Formuler products, please exercise caution. I recently acquired the z11 pro, but after just a week of use, it became stuck on mytv. I attempted to reach out to customer service multiple times for assistance, but they were unresponsive. I suggest exploring other hardware options from a different company to avoid wasting your money and experiencing frustration. company to avoid wasting your money and experiencing frustration. company to avoid wasting your money and experiencing frustration.
Hi!
Hey, thanks for the help to decide on my purchasing Formuler Z11 Pro Max.
Can anyone tell me how to get my Netflix to work on Formuler z11 PRO MAX?
Thx!!!!
We do point out the flaws. You obviously didn’t read the entire review. I point out the fact that the remote is IR and not Bluetooth. If you are having problems, use the included IR dongle or buy the BT remote like I did which I also mention in the review. Reason for deleting comments like yours is because they are considered spam by the system. Yeah, believe it or not, the other TV Box manufacturers pay people like you to visit reviews like ours and complain.
The remote that comes with the Formuler Z11 Pro Max is not Bluetooth which is surprising to me. If you’re paying $200 for a streaming device, I would assume it would come with a Bluetooth remote.
Yes, it is IR technology but it works extremely well. As long as your box and remote are within the same area, you don’t need to actually point the remote control like you usually do with IR.
The main feature missing on the included IR remote is Google Voice Assistant.
You can purchase their premium Bluetooth remote if you are in need of voice assistant. I did purchase it and Google Assistant works excellent and is extremely snappy.
Finally!
Look at What I Like and What I Dislike list.
What I Dislike:
Comes with standard IR remote and not Bluetooth – need to purchase advanced Bluetooth remote for voice assistant
I suggest that you read the entire post prior to purchasing something in the future whether it’s on our website or a different one.
I agree with Troy’s review and his reply to angel. IR remote works great when box and remote are in same area. I also upgraded to blue-tooth remote because I wanted the voice assistant like Troy mentions in his review. This is the best Android TV box I’ve ever owned and I’ve been in this hobby for over 10 years. Sad that our society has turned to people blaming others for their incompetence and inability to read and do research themselves. Great review Troy. I love my Z11 Pro Max.
Hey Troy,
Thank you very much for your video on the Formuler z11. I have an Nvidia shield with a couple of IPTV services, but i bought to the z11 after seeing your video. The mytvone3 app works perfect and it allows me to combine both services.
Appreciate the video. But I wanted to ask about having external storage on the z11.
I read your post on but I wanted be clear for my understanding. I have a thumb that is 64GB and I wanted to expand the storage to put kodi on it. Will the z11 allow me to move kodi over to the thumb drive or will it not allow me too??
Can anyone tell me for sure if Disney plus runs on the Formuler Z11 device? I ask because I’ve enjoyed the Z8 box for several years but Disney’s latest update in December now tells me my Z8 is not a supported device, and Disney plus no longer runs, much to my kids’ dismay. I’m interested in possibly upgrading to the Z11 device but only if it definitely runs DisneyPlus. Thanks in advance!
Great review thanks, Troy.
I have just bought a -Z11 Pro Max. Can’t wait to get it up & running but have one nagging question – is a Micro SD card inserted in the box’s slot regarded as internal storage (overflow for apps etc!) or for recording video and system backup – as I suspect -as with network storage? I guess I will soon find out!
I’ve been toying with the idea of buying an Nvidia Shield for a while now. It would only be for IPTV and a couple of APKs. It appears Formuler Z11 Max is ideal for what I need.
Please can anyone tell me if there’s any reason why I should spend the extra money on the Nvidia Shield?
Hi Anthony, I’m in the process of exchanging my Nvidia Shield for Z 11 Pro. Reasons being: I don’t like the remote and Google has to much control of what is allowed. Under APKTime I installed the Flix Vision( which has Netflix,Paramount +,Disney+,Prime and a few more.)Google disabled the app. Google was constantly pushing a pop up for you to sign up for Netflix. They must own part that company, it was really annoying.
The remote does light up at night and has Bluetooth but that the only thing that good about the remote. I couldn’t get the volume to work. I went to settings and tried everything but to no avail. It sounds like a person can get new remote with probably both systems.
I purchased both of mine on Amazon and you have to a month to return them. Besides Amazon is cheaper for the Z 11 Pro is $189.99. My Z 11 won’t arrive until this week so I can’t advise you on that one. I hope this was helpful. Good luck!
Great review Troy! I just got the Z11 Pro Max and set it up with my IPTV provider – which has primary and secondary channel sources. Some of those channels broadcast with moderate to significant audio delays and I was wondering if there was a way to individually adjust the audio offset for a channel, as I can do with Tivimate. Anyone know if this is possible with MY TVOnline3?
Hello, I have 500 Mbps of Internet and I would like to know if it is enough for Iptv service?
I would also like to know if it is possible to install the Stremio App?
Thanks
Excellent follow up formuler for my z10pro,thx TROY for the indeep testing of the Z11promax!
I really like the potential of mol3,although as you stated it needs getting used too,I do not really mind recording on external device-like USB-as i use record and delete a lot.
I have 500 Mbps of Fixed Internet, I ask is it enough to have an IPTV List? I would also like to know if the Stremio App is compatible with the Formuler Z11 Pro Max?
I have a Formuler Z10 Pro Max and I’m looking forward to switching to the Z11 because of the MyTvOnline3 app. That app alone convinced me especially the ability to pause live TV, watch one channel while recording another and picture in picture.
Just got one and found that my Shure bluetooth headphones do not work. They pair up ok but the sound is just garbled junk, plus there are no controls for any type of codec changes.
I’ve just had the exact same issue (with multiple Bluetooth headsets) more than 2 years later. Wish I’d seen your post before buying, Terry!
I reached out to Formuler support, who were completely unresponsive, to the issue. It’s surely just a codec problem, so they really should fix this, with an update. I sent the box back for a refund. Very disappointing, as other than this, it seemed like a great product. The only other thing missing is a backlit remote, in my opinion.
I like the Formuler devices. Nice and smooth. Not as sturdy as the Buzz boxes though. Price wise they have a lot of competition. I’ll wait and see if they upgrade the Formuler GTV. I like that one better.
I also have this device and have had it for 4/5 months. Troy’s review is also accurate and fair. Great for streaming IPTV and I regularly get software updates. There are apps already installed on it and there is a “Market” where you can download and install more if required.I love this box. Deffo worth buying.
There are two “apps” I want to use. The Xfinty DVR app (Comcast) and the DailyWire app. On FireTV stick the Xfinty app works great, but the DailyWire app will NOT run (tried side-loading it, many versions many times). I have an old 2015 Roku, DailyWire app works great, but Xfinity app requires me to be on the “Home” wifi network (trying to use it in a remote location). I bought the Google “Android TV” thing at Walmart (the Onn. box device for $19.88) hoping it would do both. it does NEITHER… If this were a sure bet (to do both), I would get. but at $200 to just try it and not know no thanks… I don’t mind gambling $20 and not using, but not $200. Can you test if these apps will work? If they both did I would buy a single device in a second.
I have this device myself and have had it for 2-3 months. Troy’s review is accurate and fair. I use it for watching iptv and it works well and is easy to use.
july 21 2026.

Is the tv service included with the box, or do I need to pay extra for their service?
Cheers!
Hi Can you watch a different show while it is recording another show?
Thank You
Keith
I cant believe at this price they dont supply an illuminated remote..
and, that illuminated “keyboard” thats included is a joke, half the basic functions, like DOWN on the D button wont move the cursor down..
thanks!
i went back to ONN 4k pro only because it has dolby vision.
Hey Jerome,
Have you tried using this neat little tool called google search?
Please advise. Thanks Troy for your reply in advance. Cheers!!
Hey there,
Check this out: https://troypoint.com/fully-loaded-android-boxes/
My volume keeps going up and down on its own. How do I fix that? Everything else is good
If you’re considering purchasing Formuler products, please exercise caution.
Hi Ben, here’s how you can do a factory reset with a paper clip. https://support.formuler.tv/kb/article/198–manual-factory-reset-z11-pro-max-z11-pro-z10-pro-max-z10-pro/
You ggsvr no idea how to use it, First timer. And didn’t google or YouTube.
Hi!
Hey, thanks for the help to decide on my purchasing Formuler Z11 Pro Max.
Can anyone tell me how to get my Netflix to work on Formuler z11 PRO MAX?
Thx!!!!
Download it from Google play store smarty
Paid review!! Point out real world use flaws with the remotes on Z10 and Z11 and he deletes the reply!!
Have a wonderful day.
Hey there, this should work just fine.
Any comments on the 4k display quality? I currently have a Formuler 8. Will I see a huge difference with the 11pro max?
Great review thanks, Troy.
I have just bought a -Z11 Pro Max. Can’t wait to get it up & running but have one nagging question – is a Micro SD card inserted in the box’s slot regarded as internal storage (overflow for apps etc!) or for recording video and system backup – as I suspect -as with network storage? I guess I will soon find out!
Does this box push out Dolby Atmos when using apps that support it? Like Disney plus or prime.
Does the Formuler z11 pro max support dolby atmos?
Ok
Hi,
I’ve been toying with the idea of buying an Nvidia Shield for a while now. It would only be for IPTV and a couple of APKs. It appears Formuler Z11 Max is ideal for what I need.
Please can anyone tell me if there’s any reason why I should spend the extra money on the Nvidia Shield?
Many thanks,
Anthony
How does this device compare to the last version of the NVIDIA SHIELD?
Because I have seen in several videos the Formuler Z11 Pro Max does not have Chromecast, what alternative do you suggest for Chromecast?
Miracast
Hello, I have 500 Mbps of Internet and I would like to know if it is enough for Iptv service?
I would also like to know if it is possible to install the Stremio App?
Thanks
Yes, 500 is plenty.
Excellent follow up formuler for my z10pro,thx TROY for the indeep testing of the Z11promax!
I really like the potential of mol3,although as you stated it needs getting used too,I do not really mind recording on external device-like USB-as i use record and delete a lot.
Can you sideload applications on this device like a firestick?
Hi Richard, yes you can. Please see my new video above that shows how to install Downloader that will allow for this.
I have 500 Mbps of Fixed Internet, I ask is it enough to have an IPTV List? I would also like to know if the Stremio App is compatible with the Formuler Z11 Pro Max?
I can’t choes between this Z11 pro max or buzz tv x5 or XR4900 , if you can give me some idea really appreciate it
Yes – via Downloader app
Is this box capable of an audio output in 7.1 channel surround sound?
I have a Formuler Z10 Pro Max and I’m looking forward to switching to the Z11 because of the MyTvOnline3 app. That app alone convinced me especially the ability to pause live TV, watch one channel while recording another and picture in picture.
Just got one and found that my Shure bluetooth headphones do not work. They pair up ok but the sound is just garbled junk, plus there are no controls for any type of codec changes.
Easily , download audio codec app
I’ve just had the exact same issue (with multiple Bluetooth headsets) more than 2 years later. Wish I’d seen your post before buying, Terry!
I reached out to Formuler support, who were completely unresponsive, to the issue. It’s surely just a codec problem, so they really should fix this, with an update. I sent the box back for a refund. Very disappointing, as other than this, it seemed like a great product. The only other thing missing is a backlit remote, in my opinion.
I am currently looking for a replacement android box with OTA updates, so this new Formuler looks very promising. Thanks again for all you do Troy.
I’ve been using Formuler for the past 3 years and can’t wait to get my hands on this beast. LOVE IT. Thanks for the review Troy.
I have this device myself and have had it for 2-3 months. Troy’s review is accurate and fair. I use it for watching iptv and it works well and is easy to use.
