The following tutorial shows how to install the Shadow Addon on the latest version of Kodi.

Shadow is a popular Kodi add-on that’s now available for installation in the Magnetic Repository and was recently updated to v3.6.3. This was originally in the Narcacist Lost Souls Repository.
This is a “debrid only” add-on meaning a premium debrid service is required to stream content. Popular debrid services include TorBox, Real-Debrid, Premiumize, or AllDebrid. Users can authorize one of these services within the settings of Shadow which we provide instructions for below.
In the tutorial below we are using an Onn 4K Plus to install the Shadow add-on. These same steps also work for those using Fire TVs, Android TV/Google TV boxes, and any device compatible with the Kodi software.

How to Integrate Debrid Services
In order to stream content from Shadow, we must first authorize a debrid service. In this example we are pairing our TorBox account but this process will also work for Premiumize, AllDebrid, etc.
1. From the main menu, select Settings.

2. Hover over Debrid and click Auth TorBox.

3. Now you must provide a TorBox API key for authentication.

4. Visit torbox.app/dashboard and locate your API Key in the account settings. Then click Copy API Key.

5. Return back to Kodi and paste your TorBox API Key. Then click OK.

6. You should then see a success message after TorBox has been integrated.

Shadow Add-on Categories & Details
The Shadow add-on works well and provides several categories that include Movie World, TV World, Trakt, Whats New, Settings, Search, and more.

In addition to debrid services, you’ll notice there are other integration options within this add-on for services like Trakt.
Shadow Addon Review
Here’s what our testing revealed about the long-standing ‘Shadow’ add-on:
What We Like
- Long history in the Kodi community
- All major premium debrid services supported: TorBox, Real-Debrid, Premiumize, and AllDebrid
- Same Magnetic Repository also hosts Nightwing and other respected scraper add-ons
- Actor browse feature lets users find titles by performer
- Resume Watching and Last Link Played categories carry playback context between sessions
- Trakt integration surfaces watched history
What We Don’t Like
- Third-party source with no verified licensing for content
- VirusTotal flagged one questionable file in the host repository URL
- No free streaming links are available
- Migration from the older Narcacist Lost Souls Repository may confuse users
- TorBox setup uses API key rather than the simpler device code flow some add-ons offer
- Older Kodi versions before 20 Nexus are not supported per the developer notes
Is The Shadow Addon Legal?
It’s impossible for TROYPOINT to determine whether these unverified add-ons like ‘Shadow’ hold the proper licensing.
TROYPOINT recommends only accessing media not protected by copyright such as those that fall under Public Domain status.
The end-user is responsible for all content accessed through unverified add-ons/apps/websites. For verified options, see our list of legal streaming apps.
Is it Safe to Use?
Before using this add-on it is important to scan their repository URL with VirusTotal. Here is the screenshot of the scan results.

VirusTotal found one suspicious file with viruses/malware within the Magnetic Repo URL. We should always protect ourselves with a VPN when streaming content from unverified 3rd party add-ons.
A VPN will provide you with an anonymous connection while using questionable add-ons such as this. See our VPN on Firestick tutorial for more information.

Torbox free doesn’t have API key. So it’s not a real option to just try it out.
Where did we say TorBox is free?
Hello Troy
I’m having problems with installation of Shadow into Kodi on my raspberry Pi 3. Following your guidance instructions I arrive at the install from repository part then it reports “unable to connect to repository” so obviously Shadow does not install. I have checked and retried many times but still no joy, some help please.
regards
Brian, UK
Shadow is no longer showing as an option when getting to the Video add-ons screen, so the side loading could not be completed. Is there updated info?
