The popular comics website Toomics has apparently reported its own website for copyright infringement.
Toomics is one of the most popular websites in the world when it comes to comics and cartoon content. They receive millions of monthly visitors.
This is a premium subscription webtoon service with every genre imaginable for comics and cartoons. They are based in Korea.
Recently, Toomics submitted several DMCA takedown requests for copyright infringement of their “Sweet Bitter Love” and “You Have the Wrong Person” comics.
What’s most interesting is in the DMCA report from Lumen, you will find that Toomics submitted its own URLs for copyright infringement.
While this is clearly an error on Toomics part for the submission, it goes to show how abused the DMCA system has become.
Protecting copyrighted material is extremely important, as publishers and copyright authorities scour the Internet every day trying to delist URLs from appearing in Google search results.

The problem is there are thousands of cases where websites aren’t participating in copyright infringement, but are delisted anyways due to DMCA takedown requests.
Overall, it will be interesting to see how the DMCA regulations adapt overtime for these types of faulty infringement situations.
