This tutorial will provide you with instructions on How To Update Firestick/Fire TV in 3 simple steps. If you use any version of the Firestick/Fire TV, your device has a software update available. Normally, this will automatically install. However, sometimes we must manually update using the steps below.
Depending on the Fire TV device you have, some type of software update is available. If you are using the original Fire TV, Fire TV 1, Fire TV 2, Fire Stick 1, or Fire Stick 2, your device will update to software version 188.8.131.52.
For those using the Fire TV 3, Fire TV Cube, or new Fire TV Stick 4k, software update 184.108.40.206 is available.
Prior to the update, the software on each Fire TV device varied. But by installing the latest version, these devices are all synced to the same software.
In the guide below, I am using a Fire TV 3rd Generation with dongle. However, these steps will work on any Fire TV device you have.
Use the step-by-step guide below to Update Firestick/Fire TV.
How To Update Firestick/Fire TV
