“Unverified” Streaming Apps Top the Charts in Brazil’s Google Play Store
Those located in Brazil may notice some unusual applications topping the Google Play Store charts.
As pointed out by TorrentFreak, there are two “unverified” streaming apps that are outranking Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney Plus on Brazil’s Google Play Store.
We want to know your thoughts on these “unverified” apps being available in the Google Play Store. Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
This is a bizarre situation as these applications contain copyrighted content which Google claims to be strongly against.
While these Streaming Apps can oftentimes get through Google’s filters, reaching the top of the charts is something we have not seen before.
A search of Brazil’s Google Play Store’s top Entertainment Apps reveals the following results:
As you can see, Cine Vision V5 and MegaFlix are ranking 1 and 2 above Netflix, Pluto TV, and Disney+.
Both of these apps contain full movies and series that they likely do not have permission to broadcast.
We have seen Google Play remove various applications in the past that contained no content whatsoever.

ES File Explorer Removed from Google Play Store
YouTube (owned by Google) has also removed videos from the TROYPOINT YouTube Channel including a recent video in which we show how to access Pluto TV with IPTV Smarters, which is 100% legal.
Cine Vision V5 and MegaFlix are wildly popular with over 5 million downloads and upwards of 80,000 reviews which makes their presence even more questionable.
Many of the comments even point out the vast amount of content available. One reviewer made note of this when referencing Cine Vision V5:
“Incredible! [Cine Vision V5] has content from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Apple TV, among others. It’s as if I had subscribed to all these streams, only without paying anything,”
While users in Brazil can find these apps, they do not appear to be the same when searching in the US and only contain trailers.
Overall, this is very confusing to cord-cutters and streamers. Especially those who want to use verified apps for their viewing purposes and trust these high profile App Stores such as Google Play and Apple.

Hi there. It seems a tricky permission in order to trace the “clients”. Would I be wrong? Not many users have the habit of using a vpn to protect themselves.
Well it seems goggle only takes action on removing apps or U tube videos when one of the big conglomerate cable companies or Hollywood studio’s (which today are basically the same as Hollywood sold most it’s assets and studio’s to these companies) complain about that app or video. Also the rationale for removing video players such as smarters from the play store is as illogical as trying to remove the production of bottles because minors are getting access to alcohol from them, are we going to go down that rabbit hole also?
Yet another example how Google does a terrible job in reviewing apps and approves them anyway.
