The decline of cable TV continued in 2024 as two of the most popular providers lost nearly 3 million subscribers from their TV customer base.

Comcast, one of the nation’s leading telecommunications services had a difficult 2024 with over 1.5 million TV customers cancelling their subscription along with 400,000+ internet subscribers.
This amounts to over 8% of the company’s 12.5 million subscriber base, all who pay for their TV service that functions under the Xfinity name.
In December of 2024, Xfinity announced that they would raise prices for 2025 with an increase of 14% for just the base service fee. Internet subscribers will also see a price jump which has become the norm year after year.
In fact, Comcast has raised annual prices by more than 10% every year for the last 14 years, leaving many to abandon the platform for alternative viewing methods such as streaming.
Spectrum, who is owned by Charter Communications, saw a similar scenario with their subscriber base in 2024 as well. The company lost over 1.2 million Pay TV subscribers and over half a million internet customers.
Many are abandoning the traditional method of watching television and opting for different outlets such as IPTV that provides live television at a fraction of the price.
With cord-cutting on the rise, millions are switching their viewing preferences altogether and simply quitting live television for on-demand from various applications/APKs that serve up Movies and Shows.
However, with services such as Netflix also continuing to raise prices, it seems as though many are stuck between a rock and a hard place when trying to find affordable methods to watch their favorite content.

This is why millions have cut the cord altogether and opted for alternative ways such as jailbreaking Firestick or Android Boxes to sideload apps and access the media they crave.
Oftentimes, even pirate sites are more reliable than these verified outlets as we have seen companies such as ESPN & Netflix struggle to broadcast live events without issue.
All of these add up and customers are sick of the issues and rising prices that are constantly occurring with traditional pay TV packages which is why their numbers continue to plummet.
In all likelihood, this trend will continue until some major changes are made which we don’t expect to see in the near future.
