Android Version: Is it AOSP or Android TV/Google TV?
The BuzzTV Classic AI runs on Android 14, but unlike certified devices, this is a pure AOSP (Android Open Source Project) build. It is not an officially certified Android TV or Google TV device.
The operating system behaves like a customized Android tablet platform optimized for television display, relying on the custom BuzzTV interface for navigation. Many streamers refer to this setup as a “hybrid” because you get an Android TV presentation without Google’s operational guardrails.

Those mobile builds cap video playback at Standard Definition (480p/720p) and require the BT-350 air mouse pointer to navigate touchscreen menus. This box is tailored specifically for independent IPTV services, Stremio, Kodi, and sideloaded media players, not commercial SVOD apps.
Does Side-loading Work on the Device?
Yes, sideloading works flawlessly and without restriction.
Because the box is free of Google TV certification requirements, third-party APK installation is wide open. You can download and install installation files directly via web browser or the Downloader app without dealing with hidden developer menus or restrictive security popups.

Keep in mind that switching to a custom launcher bypasses the integrated BuzzTV 6 IPTV home row interface, which is the primary reason to pick up a BuzzTV box. If you do not plan to use the BuzzTV interface or player, an alternative box might serve you better.

Even so, baseline 1080p video output looks sharp, clean, and well-rendered on large displays.
