In the first quarter of 2025, ACE and the MPA seized hundreds of domains tied to illegal streaming, file-hosting, IPTV, and more.

We’ve included the full list of seized domains towards the end of this article, and you will find some familiar names on this list.
Silent Takedowns and Domain Control
One of ACE’s primary tools is domain seizure. When operators of pirate sites agree to settle or shut down, ACE and the MPA often take control of the sites’ domain names.
Visitors trying to access these now-defunct platforms are redirected to a warning page managed by ACE or the MPA.

In the first three months of 2025, the shutdown of Spanish file-hosting site Gamovideo led to the takeover of gamovideo.com and gamovideo.net.
While only a few seizures were publicly acknowledged, data shows that around 80 domains were confiscated in Q1. These included familiar names in the world of movie and TV show streaming, live sports, and even IPTV services.
Some domains may surface again under new branding. Others might disappear for good, depending on how well ACE managed to identify the site owners. The group rarely comments on these tactics, but patterns suggest that some operators break settlement terms — a fact ACE is unlikely to forget.
The MPA’s Growing Domain Collection
If domain seizures were the only sign of success, ACE and the MPA would lead the pack. A review of publicly available records shows that the MPA controls over 500 piracy-related domains as of early 2025.

Maintaining such a large portfolio isn’t cheap, as domain renewals can become costly over time. But for MPA and its members, that price is minor compared to the billions in lost revenue blamed on illegal streaming each year.

What’s Next for ACE/MPA?
While only a small portion of piracy operations face legal action, the quiet handover of domains continues to stack up. The growing list of seized websites shows just how aggressive ACE and the MPA have become.
Still, for every site taken down, dozens more seem to launch in its place. It’s a relentless game of whack-a-mole, with pirates often shifting to new domains, rebranding, or hiding deeper within encrypted channels and private networks. The cycle continues…
