Co-Founder of the popular streaming app Pluto TV, Ilya Pozin, is launching a brand new TV set that is available absolutely free.
Best of all, the TV will feature a dual-screen display with the bottom screen scrolling sports scores, weather, news, ads, and more.
The new television set, named Telly, is set to be released sometime this summer and is currently taking reservations for the first 500,000 customers.
To go along with the dual-screen display, Telly also has a built-in soundbar sandwiched between the screens for an improved audio experience.

The premise of the free television set is to earn money from ad revenue via the bottom monitor.
Pozin noted how the current model of viewing television is a double whammy for consumers who have to pay for the set and still encounter ads.
For too long, consumers have not been an equal part of the advertising value exchange…
Companies are making billions of dollars from ads served on televisions, yet consumers have historically had to pay for both the TV and the content they watch. All of that changes today. When I co-founded Pluto TV, we created an entirely new model that offered amazing TV content to viewers for free. Now, with Telly, we are providing the actual television for free as well.
The device itself is a 55″ 4K HDR top screen that is directly linked to the bottom screen which runs on Telly’s new Operating System, TellyOS.
TellyOS is the platform that will run the ticker screens as well as the advertisements that keep the television free.
Hide Your Digital Fingerprint

Unfortunately, it will not support Streaming Apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and more.
Luckily, the main screen of the device has full streaming capabilities as Telly provides a free 4K Android TV dongle that will allow you to install and use all of your favorite applications.
(No word on sideloading capabilities, however, if it runs Android TV we can be sure that this will also work)
With 3 HDMI inputs, users will also have the ability to connect their favorite streaming device including the Amazon Firestick/Fire TV.
To go along with the soundbar and dual smart screen, Telly has a built-in camera and microphone that enables “free advanced motion-tracking fitness programs”.
This is for the use of the included video games that range from classic arcade options to immersive multiplayer games for the whole family.

The company also expects to roll out software changes every so often that include items like karaoke, workout classes, and more.
Of course with almost anything that is available for free these days, there is a catch that comes with the purchase of a Telly TV.

Telly says they will be begin delivering at the end of the summer, its close to end of summer so we’ll see
I’m surprised that this is being touted on here what with privacy being an utmost concern. Some things are best consigned to the trash heap. This TV is one of them.
Hey Billy,
We aren’t “touting” this device. Simply making an article to let people know the facts about it!
what is the best ad blocker for firestick i downloaded it kept turning off my vpn
Owners of this will give up privacy in exchange for a free TV. The set will also track the physical presence or lack of watchers. If you want 24/7 surveillance, go for it. No VPN will protect you if the device itself is monitoring you.
Built in video camera and microphone AND you need to interact with the ads periodically for it to work?
Anyone else getting 1984-type vibes?
Yeah, it’s a free tv, but if money is an issue, you can find used 55″ tv’s for cheap, many having 4K.
I do applaud Pluto/Telly in taking a chance to bring alternatives to the market though. Curious to see if this gathers any interest.
I’d give it a try. It’s risky but what’s safe with the internet these days?
Sounds like a good deal if your willing to share info but I would really like to know what troypoint thoughts on this deal
TOS You will need to provide a credit card before TV is sent. Also, you will have to return TV. I didn’t see if they paid for shipping. I think you pay. Not for me.
“Return TV”?
Would be good if there was a list of countries that its NOT available for, or is there, and i have just missed it??
It listed it is only available for the USA.
So the list of countries that it is NOT available for is: Every country except the US.
Thanx for your reply, and for confirming this for me, i couldn’t see where it stated this, so i have obviously missed it. Shame it’s just for the US, as i believe other countries in the EU and UK should have had the opportunity grab this too. Nevermind.?
I just input my details, phone number email etc, but when i try to install the app, it tells me it’s not available in my country?? So it’s NOT available to sign up too, correct? or is there a way around this??
Pretty sure our article above says it’s only for United States at the moment.
Ok Troy, thank for letting us know, lets hope it changes to other countries including the UK.??
Yes Veronika, it does sound too good to be true but I sighed up to see what happens. I’m from the U.S. and I trust Troypoint so we’ll see.
Hello Billdx please note that we have nothing to do with this business. Thanks for trusting TROYPOINT but we are just reporting the news. Again, we have nothing to do with this company. Thank you.
Sounds too good to be true… Not avail for Canadians.
