TorGuard VPN has decided to ban torrent websites when using their service after reaching a lawsuit settlement.
VPNs or Virtual Private Networks have become known as one of the best methods to protect your privacy online.

One VPN Company, however, is doing the opposite after a recent settlement agreement with some high-profile movie companies.
Multiple movie companies recently filed a lawsuit against TorGuard VPN, claiming the outfit encourages pirate content.
The original complaint stated the following:
TorGuard knows and encourages its end users to use its VPN service to access The Pirate Bay and pirate content.
When TorGuard’s end users have trouble accessing Pirate Bay, TorGuard’s official moderators give them advice on how to fix their settings so that the end users can freely pirate content.
TorGuard initially asked the court to dismiss the charges, however, the two parties have since reached an agreement settling the dispute.

While the complete details of the settlement are unclear, one thing is certain.
TorGuard has agreed to block all BitTorrent traffic for customers connected to a server in the United States.
