LaLiga Wants Google’s Help to Find MagisTV (FlujoTV) Operators

The popular pirate streaming service MagisTV continues facing heat from copyright holders across Latin America.

After being added to the U.S. Trade Representative’s notorious piracy markets list, the service rebranded as FlujoTV but kept operating under both names.

Spanish football league LaLiga has been leading enforcement efforts against the platform. This summer, the organization helped shut down multiple MagisTV operations in several countries.

Now LaLiga is taking a different approach by targeting the technical infrastructure behind the IPTV service.

LaLiga Wants Google to Reveal Personal Information

LaLiga filed a DMCA subpoena request in California federal court this week. The legal action targets three specific Google IP addresses: 34.8.45.110, 34.86.157.139, and 35.199.21.67.

These addresses allegedly streamed a September 13, 2025 match between Atlético de Madrid and Villarreal without permission on FlujoTV.

LaLiga wants Google to reveal personal information about whoever used these IP addresses, including names, physical addresses, phone numbers, and payment details.

The IP addresses appear connected to an Android app (com.android.mgandroid) associated with FlujoTV. They’re also linked to googleusercontent.com, which Google uses for user-generated content across its services.

Legal Challenges Ahead

Recent court decisions may complicate LaLiga’s efforts. Last month, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that DMCA subpoenas have limits. Service providers don’t have to identify users based solely on IP addresses if they don’t store the infringing content themselves.

This ruling came from a BitTorrent piracy case involving Cox Communications. The court said copyright holders should file regular lawsuits instead of using DMCA subpoenas when service providers act as mere conduits.

Whether Google stored the content or just provided network access remains unclear. This distinction could determine if LaLiga’s subpoena succeeds or gets rejected.
