How to Install Comet Kodi Addon (Just Released)

The following tutorial shows how to install the Comet Kodi Addon on any compatible device.

Comet is a well-known scraper add-on that gained a massive following among Stremio users.

The developer (g0ldyy) has now released an official Kodi add-on so users can enjoy the same streaming experience inside Kodi. We first spotted this announcement on a Reddit thread:

This add-on works only when paired with a debrid service. This means users must connect an account like Real-Debrid, Premiumize, TorBox, etc. to stream content. We provide instructions for debrid integration following the installation steps.

One of Comet’s standout features is its debrid stream proxy capability. This allows multiple devices in your household to share a single debrid account without triggering IP restrictions, a common headache for cord-cutters who run more than one streaming setup.

In the tutorial below we are using an Amazon Firestick to install the Comet add-on. These same steps also work for those using Fire TVs, Android TV/Google TV boxes, and any device compatible with the Kodi software.

How to Install Comet Kodi Addon

• Launch Kodi
• Click the settings icon  

• Click System

• Hover over Add-ons menu item and turn on Unknown sources if not already on

• Click Yes

• Click back on remote to go back to the System page
• Select File Manager

• Click Add source

• Click <None>

• Type the following URL exactly how it is listed here – https://g0ldyy.github.io/comet and click OK

• Type “comet” or any other name you would like to identify this source as and click OK

• Click the back button on your remote until you are on the System screen. Then click Add-ons

• Click Install from zip file

• Select “comet” or whatever you named the media source in the previous step

• Click the zip file URL – plugin.video.comet/plugin.video.comet.zip

• Wait for the “Comet Add-on installed” message to appear and you have successfully installed this on your device!

Installation is complete but now we must configure and integrate a debrid service within this add-on. Follow our instructions below.

How to Configure & Setup Debrid Services

• Go to the home screen of Kodi and select Add-ons from the left menu.

• Click My add-ons.

• Select Video add-ons.

• Select Comet.

• Click Configure.

• Select Configure/Reconfigure within the settings.

• Leave this Comet base URL as is and click OK.

• Click OK again.

• You should then see a ‘Comet Kodi Setup’ message with a setup code. Make note of this code as we’ll need it in the next steps.

• Next you must visit the Comet Configuration Page using another device. This is where we will configure our debrid services.

• First select the resolutions you want to display, input Max Results per Resolution (We suggest 5), and Max size of files (10 GB).

• Next under ‘Debrid Services’ is where you will integrate your debrid service of choice and add your API Key for authorization. We integrated TorBox and Real-Debrid in this instance.

TROYPOINT Tip: If you need help with this part, choose the debrid service you use from the drop down menu and click ‘Get API key’ that will direct you to the appropriate page.

• Next choose your preferred Language and also select languages to exclude.

• After you have configured all of these settings click the Setup Kodi button on bottom.

• Now enter your Setup Code from the previous step and click Setup.

• Return back to Kodi on your streaming device and you should see a success message ‘Kodi setup complete’

• Then click OK.

• Select Open to launch the Comet add-on.

• You have successfully installed the Comet Kodi add-on on your streaming device!

As you may notice after installing, the Comet add-on works very well on almost any Kodi device after you’ve integrated a debrid service. The categories are simple and straightforward – Movies and Series.
