rojadirecta lawsuit

The extremely popular sports streaming site Rojadirecta has lost a battle in Italian Court to media powerhouse Mediaset.

This comes after various countries including the UK, Denmark, and Uruguay have ordered ISPs to block the well-known website.

We want to know your thoughts on Rojadirecta losing to Mediaset in court. Drop a comment in the provided section below!

As reported by TorrentFreak, Rojadirecta has been ordered to pay over €500,000 in damages to Mediaset.

This is a small fraction of the €29 million that was allegedly sought after by Mediaset.

Rojadirecta is one of the most well-known sports streaming sites available today, especially in Italy and other European countries.

It has come under legal pressure numerous times including being outlawed by authorities in Spain.

Most recently, however, the well-known media company Mediaset pursued legal action against Rojadirecta in an Italian court.

The lawsuit alleged copyright infringement and was ultimately ruled by the court of Rome.

A verdict was eventually reached which was summarized in a press release by Mediaset.

The statement from Mediaset noted the following:

The Court found Rojadirecta’s full responsibility for having put a available to the public in an unlawful and systematic way all sports rights acquired by Mediaset since 2010. Rojadirecta was sentenced to compensate Mediaset with the sum of € 529,579.50 in addition to € 24,786.00 for interest and legal fees.

It also went on to state that Rojadirecta was directed to compensate Mediaset for copyright infringement audiovisuals with commercial exploitation.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen media companies target streaming sites and apps:

Sky Forces Removal of CucoTV

VNest IPTV Targeted by DISH & Sling TV

This is likely not the last time we will see Rojadirecta and other streaming sites come under legal fire.

  1. Here is my thought on my sports apps on Firestick. If third party apps are illegal, then why does Amazon enable us to install them on their Firestick? Am I missing something here? We have access to a VPN (Which hides our (IPS) and I’m quite sure Amazon knows this of course. We have access to install Kodi where we go for our “illegal addons and builds” Shouldn’t Amazon be somewhat responsible? Like I had mentioned, I don’t know that much about the Firestick except what I learn thru tutorials on YouTube.

    1. If you choose to do with their product what you choose to do. Why should they be responsible? It’s like me buying a shotgun for crime and sawing it off for my own purposes! The manufacture can not be responsible for something you do and if you feel so self conscious about it don’t watch the tutorials or try to ruin it for others!!! Be responsible for your own actions and not others!!!
