Over 40 Free World Cup Streaming Sites are Pushing Scams

More than 40 nearly identical websites are using the World Cup to bait fans into scams instead of streaming a single match.

Security researchers uncovered a network of “free World Cup stream” sites that look the part, with a video player, a “Live Stream Available” badge, and a big “Watch Live” button.

There’s no signup and no paywall. There’s also no real football. The whole page exists to push pop-ups, hidden ads, and redirects through an ad network flagged as malicious.

Researchers found over 40 sites running the same page template and ad infrastructure behind different World Cup themed names.
