Premier League Targets 38 Pirate Sites: Cloudflare Subpoenaed

The Premier League is stepping up its legal fight against piracy by coming after 38 more pirate streaming websites.

These sites, which stream live matches without permission, threaten the league’s multi-billion pound broadcast revenue.

To address the issue, the league obtained a DMCA subpoena against Cloudflare, a company often used by site operators to hide hosting details.

As England’s most popular football competition, the Premier League brings in huge revenue from global broadcast rights.

With some fans opting for IPTV and unverified sports websites, the league views piracy as its main rival.

But what’s interesting is how the Premier League and other professional sports organizations fail to address rising costs and blackouts as the reason for piracy.

Cloudflare in the Crosshairs

Cloudflare does not host pirate content but helps cloak server locations. This makes enforcement harder for rightsholders trying to take sites offline.

While Cloudflare will typically reveal a site’s hosting service upon complaint, identifying the people behind those sites often requires court involvement.

That’s what led the Premier League to request a DMCA subpoena in a California federal court. This legal request, now approved, targets 38 pirate domains.

Cloudflare must turn over account details including IP addresses, names, email addresses, and payment records by April 3.

A Closer Look at the Targets

The subpoena includes many known and widely-used piracy domains. Sites like rbtv77.com, with millions of monthly visitors, top the list.

Others use gTLDs like .cfd, typically linked to fashion brands but also popular among pirate platforms.

Some domains are connected to backend links that lead to the actual sources of the pirated football streams. Others redirect to multiple alternative domains, making enforcement even tougher.

Here are some of the notable domains being targeted:

  • 310.tv —> 310002.tv
  • 808fubo.com
  • keelalive.com
  • ball24.tv
  • baygonhero.com
  • freestreams-live.my
  • gavang.org
  • jala1.cc
  • livetv819.me
  • mgviagrtoomuch.com
  • sporttuna.pro
  • rbtv77.com
  • taraftarium.co
  • totalsportek.space
  • vebo3.site
  • watchsportnow.com
  • zhiboche.tv —> zhiboche8.com —> 176001.tv
  • zhibodou.com
  • zvision.link

Refer to the Premier League’s Declaration (PDF) for the complete list of targeted domains.

Will the Data Be Useful?

Although Cloudflare will comply with the order, the big question is whether the data will help unmask any real operators.

Many site owners provide fake details and rely on untraceable payments. Even when information is shared, trails often run cold, with anonymous registrars and crypto transactions hiding identities.

Still, this effort marks a continued strategy by the Premier League to crack down on illegal streaming. Previous legal actions have led to site takedowns and prison sentences.

But with the number of pirate platforms constantly growing, enforcement remains a game of whack-a-mole.
