Sonos Android TV Box Coming Soon

Sonos new Streaming device

Sonos, the renowned audio brand, is rumored to be working on creating an exciting new streaming device, similar to popular Android TV Boxes used by millions. This device, code-named “Pinewood,” will operate on its own Android-based operating system, making it a unique addition to the Sonos family.

When paired with Sonos home speakers, the device will offer an immersive viewing experience with features like Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. This means that users can enjoy high-quality audio and vibrant visuals, enhancing their entertainment experience. But Sonos doesn’t intend to stop there – it is also exploring partnerships with streaming services and cable companies, with reports suggesting that the company may even launch its own video service.

Sonos has ambitious plans to expand its product line, including the release of headphones, amplifiers, speakers, and sound bars. With a focus on delivering exceptional audio quality and user-friendly experiences, Sonos aims to establish itself as a leader in the streaming market.

Sonos Android TV Box: A New Player in the Streaming Market

Sonos, the renowned audio brand, is set to make its mark in the competitive TV streaming device market, pitting itself against established giants like Amazon, Apple, Roku, and Google’s Android TV. Currently, the price for this device is rumored to be in the $150-200 range which is something we do not often see for these kinds of Android Boxes. The only one comparable is the well-known NVIDIA SHIELD which is available for $199.99.

Currently, more affordable media players such as the Amazon Firestick are available for a fraction of this price which is why they have become so popular.

However, with the integration of Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technologies, the Sonos TV box ensures users enjoy stunning clarity and immersive sound. This superior audio capability sets it apart from the competition, promising to enhance the streaming experience and create a home theater-like ambiance.

What makes Sonos even more enticing is its commitment to seamless device compatibility. By integrating the TV box with other Sonos devices, users can expect an effortless synchronization of audio across their home entertainment system. Whether it’s speakers, soundbars, or other components, Sonos aims to deliver a cohesive and immersive streaming experience.

Sonos recognizes the importance of content diversity and is reportedly in talks with cable companies and streaming services to expand its offerings on the TV box. While the streaming market is undoubtedly crowded, Sonos is confident it can find its niche by combining its audio expertise with a user-friendly streaming device.

With its sleek design, advanced audio capabilities, and commitment to seamless integration, the Sonos TV box enters the streaming market poised to make waves. As consumers seek out new options to enhance their streaming experience, Sonos offers a compelling choice that brings together the best of audio and streaming technology.

Sonos’ Expansion and Future Plans

In addition to the TV set-top box, Sonos has an array of new products in the pipeline. These include $400 headphones, amplifiers, in-ceiling speakers, a higher-end TV soundbar, subwoofers, and updates to its portable speakers.

Sonos’ decision to expand its product lineup comes after restructuring its product development group and reducing its workforce. The company’s CEO, Patrick Spence, has hinted at a “major new product in a new multibillion-dollar category” that will be released in 2024. While there is speculation that this could refer to the TV box, it could also indicate the launch of premium Sonos headphones.

The timing and details of Sonos’ product launches are still undisclosed, however, we will keep you updated as more information is made available.

I wish somebody would come out with a player that records by the name of the show not by date and time. In other words it doesn’t matter what time the show comes on during the day it recorded by its name.

Sure is an interesting read, but for me completely lacking in solid answers. Where will these be made? Do they have good customer service? From what I’ve read their products are pretty high end. I’d be curious on hearing from those who have had personal experience with their products. As always tx @TXRon . Love reading the tidbits you find. Have a happy new year my friend. :confetti_ball::fireworks::clinking_glasses:

  9. I bought one of their soundbars several months ago. It was easy to set up and the sound quality is outstanding. I got the arc soundbar and sub. I got lucky and was able to get an open box for a substantial savings!

I plan on adding the Era 300 down the road. That is what is nice about this product. You can build it out as you need.

Maybe I will check BB in a couple of weeks for an open box Christmas return deal. Although, the best time to go hunting for open box tech is after the Supe Bowl week.

I would certainly consider it, but being in this hobby for a while, I’ve grown cautious on being first in line. I am going to wait to hear what genuine customer reviews are before spending my limited funds. Sonos is well known for high end and high quality products with a price to match.
