A pirate IPTV operator in Pennsylvania is facing a $9 million lawsuit after failing to respond to a court order filed by major Hollywood studios over his alleged operation of pirate IPTV services.
Operator Linked to Multiple Pirate IPTV Services
A Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania resident named Brandon Weibley is facing serious legal trouble after being identified as the operator of several pirate IPTV services. Major Hollywood studios including Amazon, Netflix, Disney, and Paramount filed a lawsuit against him in March at a Pennsylvania federal court.
The complaint alleges that Weibley has been profiting from copyright infringement since 2017. His operation began with beastmodebuilds.com and expanded to include multiple brands such as Beast Mode Live, BTV, Viking Media, and GreenWing Media.
Services Rebranded After Initial Confrontation
When movie studios confronted Weibley in 2023, he didn’t shut down his operation. Instead, he moved to a different domain called vonwik.com and rebranded his services as “Shrugs” and “Zing.”
These services currently offer subscribers access to more than 9,000 channels featuring copyrighted television series, movies, international content, and live sports events.
Defendant Fails to Respond to IPTV Lawsuit
After being personally served with the complaint, Weibley failed to file an answer or appear in court. This lack of response has led the studios to request a default judgment.
The IPTV services remain operational despite the ongoing legal action. According to MPA Chief Content Protection Officer Larissa Knapp, Weibley is still believed to be running the operation.
Studios Request Maximum Damages
The plaintiffs are seeking maximum statutory damages of $150,000 per work for 60 copyrighted titles, totaling $9 million. This represents the highest penalty allowed for willful infringement.

Beyond monetary damages, the studios want a permanent injunction that would:
- Transfer control of vonwik.com and related domains to the rightsholders
- Force hosting providers to suspend services
- Prevent content from being moved to other domains or hosting services
