Authorities in Thailand raided the INWIPTV streaming operation with support from ACE. They seized servers and equipment from this illegal IPTV service with 100,000+ subscribers.

Operation Targets INWIPTV Streaming Service
Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) took down INWIPTV, one of the country’s largest illegal IPTV operations, during coordinated raids on September 21.
The service, which began operating in 2012 under the name FWIPTV, charged subscribers around $10 monthly for access to American, international, and Thai content along with live sports and adult material.
If you visit the original INWIPTV website (inwiptv.com) you will now encounter an error message.

The DSI conducted raids across six locations in Nonthaburi and Bangkok with support from the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) and Thai broadcaster True Visions. Twelve employees were detained for questioning during the operation.
Massive Scale of IPTV Operations Revealed
Authorities seized over 150 pieces of evidence from a five-acre warehouse facility. The haul included 46 servers, large-scale signal transmission equipment, electronic storage devices, financial documents, and multiple IPTV boxes. The operation, dubbed “DEV Shutdown,” exposed the true scope of INWIPTV’s business.

The service maintained over 100,000 active subscribers and generated approximately 200 million baht ($5.6 million) annually through membership fees alone.
INWIPTV illegally intercepted Premier League football broadcasts and movie content from major studios including Warner Bros., Netflix, Channel 3, and MONO before distributing them to paying customers.

Gambling Links Discovered
Beyond copyright violations, investigators uncovered connections to online gambling operations. INWIPTV used advertising space to hide links to gambling websites offering baccarat, sic bo, roulette, and sports betting. These additional revenue streams pushed total annual turnover beyond 1 billion baht ($28 million).
The service operated multiple membership tiers—daily, monthly, and yearly options—and maintained an admin team to manage gambling websites. Operators allegedly used “mule accounts” to move money and conceal fund origins, suggesting potential money laundering activities.
Industry Response
“We commend the DSI for their decisive action in Operation DEV Shutdown against a key IPTV target in Thailand,” said Larissa Knapp, Chief Content Protection Officer for the MPA.
The operation demonstrated the effectiveness of partnerships between international anti-piracy groups and local law enforcement.
Sompan Charumilinda, Executive Vice Chairman of True Visions, emphasized that shutting down piracy services protects Thai youth and supports the country’s creative economy.
Final Thoughts
The INWIPTV takedown represents a major victory in Thailand’s fight against online piracy. The DSI plans to pursue the case fully, seize remaining assets, and shut down the network’s financial operations.
However, hundreds of similar pirate streaming operations continue operating worldwide, making this an ongoing battle for authorities and copyright holders.
Despite remaining on the U.S. Trade Representative’s Watch List for eight consecutive years, Thailand continues making progress in enforcing intellectual property laws.
