The term ‘IPTV operator’ wasn’t clearly defined, but it appears these individuals were not major players in the IPTV piracy ecosystem since they received warnings rather than immediate legal action.
The targets were accused of selling smart TV devices and Firesticks pre-loaded with IPTV subscriptions, enabling unauthorized access to paid sports and TV content.
Arrests and Investigations
In addition to the warnings, police executed three warrants resulting in the arrests of three men from Nottingham, Widnes, and Stockton-on-Tees.
