FEN Kodi Addon Will No Longer Receive Development
The extremely popular FEN Kodi Addon will no longer receive development after the latest version release.
The most recent version, V3.2.09, is the last and final version of one of the most used Kodi Addons of all time.
This comes after an announcement made by the developer on the addon’s official Github Page.

As you can see, “Tikipeter”, the developer of FEN, posted the following comment regarding the addon’s status:
There will be no more development of Fen moving forward.
There is no further explanation for this news and comments for the topic on Github have been closed.

However, there was a comment made by Tikipeter on the addon’s Discord Page noting that he is not retiring.
This is a sad day for thousands of Kodi users who enjoyed FEN for streaming high-definition Movies and TV Shows.
In fact, FEN was ranked as the #1 addon for Real-Debrid users on our list of Best Kodi Addons.
Recently, the addon underwent various changes including the requirement of Provider Set Up for scraping sources.
The Umbrella Kodi Addon went through the same changes as well so it will be interesting to see if we see a similar outcome for this popular streaming addon.
We have seen addon developers close up shop in the past for various reasons including time constraints and legal pressure.
It is unclear if either of these played a part in FEN’s decision to halt development but the addon will surely be missed by many.
For those with FEN installed on their Kodi device, the addon will continue to work for an extended amount of time.

Sad news this morning. Credit to @Joey_Bklyn for being the first person that mentioned this on here as far as I could tell.
Sad indeed. I’m also worried that Umbrella could be next. Both developers worked together and also implemented updates at or near the same time.
Yeah you’re spot on about Fen & Umbrella updates being released same times and often the same fixes.
If I recall there is a fairly new addon that @TROYPOINT did an installation video & he stated it was either a clone of fen or a fork. Maybe that is the Next project for the developers.

So, funny story. I opened Kodi and my FEN addon updated to version 3.2.10 today…
Mine updated to 3.2.10 also, but now it won’t sync with Trakt any longer. Error log keeps reading “Uses old schema definition for the repository extension point! This is no longer supported, please update your addon to use definitions”

Does anyone know where i can get a previous version of Fen? 3.2.10 won’t work with Trakt, but for whatever reason, my other box is still running Fen 3.2.1 and it’s flawless.
Trakt still works fine for me. Don’t jump to conclusions. The error posted above only applies to the one category of TV shows if you are searching by year. Not really a big deal.
Not jumping to conclusions. It’s just odd that Trakt won’t sync on my Fen anymore. I tried revoking and reauthorizing, but it just errors out. I even tried reauthorizing my Trakt addon just in case and that worked fine. No problem syncing on other addons. Just odd and wondered if anyone had insights.
Tikipeter stopped supporting Fen once before. I switched to the clone Ezra then and have been happy as a clam ever since. It’s my go to.

The one thing that I really like about Fen is when you look at the “Information” for a movie or TV show, there will be a listing of the actors. You can tab on the actor and it will give a capsule of that actor and a list all of their movies and TV shows that they have been in. I’ve found some really great, under-recognized movies this way. In the past, I’ve had to go to IMDB to look this info up.
I enjoy FEN because it works really well without Trakt. However, what I like more than anything is that with FEN I could mark episodes as watched (without Trakt).
What other Addons function this way?

Ezra is a clone of Fen. I like the feature because I’ll find a TV show I want to watch and mark the first episode as watched. It then shows up on my list of “In Progress TV Shows”. When a new season arrives, that TV shows will appear in my “In Progress TV Shows”
I just checked and the information menu works although when I select an actor, it shows no results found. Do you have to do anything to Fen to get that to work? I don’t use trkt.
Ah! yes, if you are on the listings screen and tap to select a movies listing to see the info from the “Information” listing then selecting the actor from the photos at the top, it won’t work.
But if you go the the “Search movies”, then type in a movie, we’ll say Wizard of Oz", when the searched movie info opens up there will be the actors listed below. Plus some reviews for the movie, but if you select the actor, in this case Judy Garland then it should open a new window with info on the selected actor. This only works when in the search function. I hope this makes sense. If not, please let me know.

Thanks to whoever posted the additional article. The thing that bummed me out that the developer said about Fen light, if I read correctly is that he wanted to drop subtitle support for Fen and that, it seems means Fen light will not have it. THAT is the thing I love the most about Fen is that subtitles work for every file I’ve watched except for about 4. It’s why I ditched Cinema because it got too glitchy, MX didn’t work well at all and the subtitles stopped working. Fen completely changed my mind about not liking Kodi builds.

Go to “search - person” type in the name of the person. This will take you to the person with a short bit of info and their birth date. Then scroll down you will find the movies and TV shows that they have been in. Then, if you see another actor that is listed here, then you should be able to perform the same search on that actor.
I have been watching an old TV series with Tim Roth. So I did a search on him and found a bunch of great movies that he’s been in.
I’ve only found this in the Fen addon and the clones. Again, very sorry for my confusion.
