The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), an MPA-backed coalition of global media companies, marked a big year in 2024.
The organization shut down major pirate networks and added a new list of targets to end the year, which we include towards the end of this article.

ACE’s Top Shutdowns of 2024
ACE’s core mission of shutting down piracy operations achieved significant milestones in 2024.
Among the highlights was the dismantling of the Fmovies piracy network in collaboration with Vietnamese authorities. This action affected numerous high-traffic sites like Aniwave, Soap2day, and Zoroxtv, collectively drawing billions of visits annually.
Other notable shutdowns included:
- Sports Piracy Rings: In December, ACE took down one of the biggest sports piracy rings, leading to over 138 domain seizures.
- IPTV Networks: In May, several IPTV sellers faced enforcement actions.
- Anime and Film Piracy Sites: Platforms like Animeflix and Egypt’s Laroza were taken offline mid-year.
- Animefenix and Braflix Closures: These sites shut down voluntarily following legal pressure, with their domains redirecting to ACE’s “Watch Legally” initiative.
In total, ACE was responsible for the seizure or shutdown of hundreds of domains over the past year.
What’s Next for 2025?
ACE is not slowing down. As the new year begins, the coalition has already filed multiple DMCA subpoenas in California courts.
These requests target service providers like Cloudflare and Tonic, seeking detailed operator information for 39 piracy-related domains. High-traffic sites such as Anitaku, Gimy, and Aniworld are among the primary targets.

This approach underscores ACE’s commitment to identifying and dismantling piracy networks. The coalition’s focus on these domains signals its priorities for the coming year.

Final Thoughts
While ACE achieved numerous takedowns in 2024, the fight against piracy remains an ongoing game of whac-a-mole. For every operation shut down, 100 new platforms and domains often emerge.
The persistence of pirate networks highlights the challenges ACE faces in maintaining long-term success. As 2025 begins, it’s clear that the digital landscape remains as dynamic and unpredictable as ever.
