ACE and other anti-piracy authorities have shutdown Albania’s most popular pirate streaming site called Filma24.

Filma24 served thousands of Albanian users with free movies and TV shows, suddenly went offline along with dozens of backup domains.
The shutdown of this movie streaming site appears to be the work of the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).
The ‘Filma24’ name had perviously been mentioned by the MPA in their Notorious Markets Report submitted to the USTR.
Multiple Filma24 domains now redirect to ACE’s standard takedown banner.

The impacted domains include filma24.bike, filma24.app, filma24.dev, filma24-al.com, filma24.lol, filma24.name, filma24.pro, filma24.top, filma24.uno and filma24.vip.
How Big Was Filma24?
The numbers tell an interesting story about this regional pirate site. According to SimilarWeb, Filma24.bike alone received over two million visits in March 2025, with half coming from Albania. For a country with just three million people, these figures are massive.

The site ranked as Albania’s 59th most visited domain, making it a true local giant in the streaming world. Users flocked to Filma24 because it offered content with Albanian subtitles, something other international pirate sites rarely provided.

MPA Takes Control of Domains
Domain records show that the Motion Picture Association now owns the seized domain names. This suggests the operators may have reached some type of agreement rather than fighting the takedown in court.
ACE also seized Zhblloko.com, a companion site that taught users how to bypass blocking efforts through VPN services and DNS changes. The simultaneous takeover of multiple domains points to a coordinated enforcement action.
Reports indicate Filma24 was asking for donations just days before disappearing, though this remains unconfirmed.
History suggests this won’t be the end of the Filma24 brand. New sites using the same name and design are already appearing online. Albanian users who relied on the local subtitles will likely embrace these replacements.

The cat-and-mouse game between copyright holders and pirate sites continues. While ACE scored a win by taking down Albania’s biggest streaming destination, replacements typically emerge within days or weeks.
Final Thoughts
The Filma24 shutdown shows how copyright enforcement groups are targeting regional pirate sites, not just major international platforms.
For Albanian streaming fans, this represents a significant disruption to their viewing habits, though alternatives will likely surface soon.
