The TV App & Kodi Addon Installation on Firestick/Android TV

the tv app live tv

The following tutorial will show you How to Access The TV App for streaming live channels and sports on your preferred device.

The name The TV App may be a bit deceiving though as this resource is not an IPTV application but a website. This top-rated live TV streaming website provides free channels and more with little to no buffering in high definition.

There are various categories to choose from for both Live channels and Sports. After testing, we have found that links play extremely fast with no buffering whatsoever.

Users can access The TV App on nearly any device including streaming devices such as the Amazon Firestick, Fire TV, and Android TV. Unfortunately, navigation via the website is tricky on these devices which is why we recommend using the Kodi Addon.

If you choose to use the official TV App website, you will likely need to cast to your Firestick or Android Box. This means that jailbreaking your Firestick is not necessary to use this option.

The TV App appears to be designed for phones, tablets, and computers so using it on a TV with a remote control isn’t ideal.

Streaming channels and events that we can see on the website work perfectly fine with no issues.

Unfortunately, when attempting to scroll down through the channels list, there is no way to do so which means we can only select a handful of options.

This is why we strongly recommend using the TV App Kodi Addon as navigation is much simpler to use than the website on streaming devices.

Those who prefer to cast can easily do so on Firestick, Fire TV, and Android TV from any device including PC, iOS, and Android phone/tablet.

In the guide below, we will show you how to cast to Firestick or Android Box from PC. However, you can also cast to these streaming devices from your iPhone, Android phone/tablet, and more.

Is The TV App Safe to Use?

Before I access this, I first want to scan the official website with VirusTotal. Here is the screenshot of the scan results.

VirusTotal did not find any suspicious files or malware within The TV App website. However, this does not mean we shouldn’t protect ourselves when streaming content from this unverified app.

The best way to do this is with a VPN that will secure your identity and anonymity when using The TV App or other websites.

The TV App Features & Details

The TV App is a fabulous resource for live-streaming channels and many are referring to it as a USTVGO alternative.

One of the best features The TV App provides is the sports options not found with other Live services. Upon testing, we have found that nearly all channels work very well with little to no buffering.

One thing to note is that streams do not always play in high definition. If you are looking for HD-quality live content, we suggest using a quality IPTV Service.

As noted above, The TV App website does not function well on streaming devices. If you must watch The TV App on a streaming device, we strongly suggest Casting or Mirroring from a PC or mobile device.

  1. Has the URL changed? This one is not working. Everything typed in correctly, also tried without the ‘s’ on https://

  2. Can’t get any response on tickets I posted under Premium, so there’s a problem. I have no issues casting from my android phone to my Shield pro with the free version.

  3. TVAPP is working for me but all the channels are 480p

is there a way to see them in higher resolution?

does it allow you to use real debrid?

  4. I just installed The TV App on Kodi following the instructions above. The install went smoothly, but nothing I clicked on did anything. Tried in the NFL channel to bring up a few games that are currently playing, and then when that didn’t work I tried a bunch of the Live TV channels. Some of the things brought up the “one or more didn’t play. Check the log.” pop-up. Others just did nothing.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Mine was working, but now I’m getting the “check the log” pop up too. I’ve got 2 different fire sticks and get the same message on both. Not sure if The TV App is working anymore.

  5. Has anyone figured how to get the kodi addon the tv app working? It stopped working about 3 days ago. The service still works using a browser, but no longer works as an addon in kodi.

  6. I love the tv app on kodi, however as of two days ago, it will not play on any channels. It still works great using a browser, but currently not working on kodi. Hoping it gets fixed soon.

  7. Hi. I used your instructions to set up The TVApp and it worked fine for weeks. Suddenly, it is no longer working. I get this error,”ERROR EXCEPTION Thrown Python Cpp Exception Error Type class IndexError Error Contents list index cout of range “ I reinstalled Kodi and The TVApp. But, I still keep running into the same issues. Is there an updated link for the app?

  8. The TV App won’t load on either of my TVs. I was just trying to get it up on our back TV for my wife as se doesn’t know other than find it and hit play and it works. I uninstalled it, cleared the cache twice, then checked the front TV and it’s not coming up on it either. Anyone know what has happened to The TV App???

    1. Same here. I tried everything to get it working again and thought that maybe it was shut down. I tried logging in on the internet ( and the site works, but they apparently updated the site and now demand that you check a box prior to accessing the site. Hopefully someone will out how to fix the kodi addon.

  9. Just curious, does The TV App have a EPG or is there a way to download or sideload a guide that will corresponde to The TV App? I’ve looked and didn’t find one but even though I’ve fooled with Kodi since 16.9, I haven’t experimented with much because I didn’t want to mess something up and have to spend hours figuring out what I did or didn’t do!

    1. What you are looking for is I just finished linking the m3u playlist for the tv tap and using their auto assign tool for the tv-id using their epg file. Great tool once you figure it out.

  10. I installed The TV App on my old Android 6.0 via kodi and the interface works rather nicely for selecting the channel of your chosing however a EPG would be a nice additional feature if possible.
I did notice that the playback did not seem as smooth and fluid as I have seen with the Tizen Browser on my Samsung Tv.
I have lately been considering upgrading the 4 year old Android 6.0 stream box for improved performance.
I am considering the BuzzTv X5 for upgrade. Opinions and recommendations appreciated from Troy and Community.

    1. I have the 2020 samsung smart tv 43 in with the tizen browser. I have bookmarked on my TV. Here lately the site works but everything I click on any network or any live sports on the weekend I get no window with the arrow to bring up the show or sports game. Kinda of a blank site. But I check my android tablet and type in works and I can watch any show or sports game. I heard that the 2023 samsung smart tvs have a updated tizen browser. Will the new tvs with the updated tizen browser have better luck with the problems? Thanks…

  11. I use TizenBrowser that came stock on my Samsung Tv it scrolls up and down.
The Tizen is a 64 bit processor so it plays very good also.

  12. I can mirror thetvapp to the FireStick fine without using a vpn. Even with LAN enabled on my vpn it either doesn’t connect or just shows a black screen. I tried using two different vpns without success. Is there a workaround for my problem?

  13. Hi I thought if you have a real debrid acc it stops buffering,I have an nvidia shield and IPVanish so why does it still buffer?

  14. Warren Michaels

Navigating around this website is simple using the Silk Browser app on the Fire Stick, just choose ‘Live TV’ at the top of the page and scroll up and down, and it’s the same if you want to choose the sports.

  15. Don’t know why, but when I cast to a Sony Bravia, the video is perfect but I can’t get any audio whatsoever. The audio is killed on both my pc and TV. The minute I break the mirroring, audio comes back on the pc perfectly. Tried it with both Edge and Google. Same problem. To get audio output on the TV, I had to kill my soundbar and revert to TV speakers, which is not ideal. Anyone find this problem? Problem is the same when I cast using Google cast in Google browser

  16. nstructions say 4. Click the Windows Key and the K key at the same time to launch casting options. Select your device. What if you are using a Mac?

  17. Ray Aschettino

Cannot cast from a Chromebook for some reason. Is there any way to contact the developers of “” maybe they can fix the scrolling issue. Seems a shame for such a great app.
Scrolling should not be that difficult to fix. IT scrolls just fine on my chrome book or PC. My PCs are at the office and the chromebook for some reason won’t cast to the TV although it shows the option to cast but nothing connects for some reason.

    1. I’ve installed the mouse toggle from Troypoint using the downloader site on Amazon Firestick. Once you install go to TVAPP and use mouse toggle by double clicking the center button under the Home button on your Firestick remote. The button on the right of the center button will control the scroll down. The mouse will only go down not up. You have to play with your remote to get it to scroll up. Until someone comes up with something better this is the best way I’ve found to use it.
