I am not able to add any new add ins.

When I reach install from zip file step the add ons come empty.

    What is the reason?

    • glenn tamura June 1, 2017 at 12:32 pm - Reply

Hi Natacha… It means your URL is probably typed incorrectly. Or, the creator of the Add-on has taken it down. Make sure all you letters, punctuation marks, etc are typed correctly.

Same Issue: New firestick, new install of 17.3. No addons installed.. Kodi boots, but once we get to the Krypton screen, it goes black. Waited over 20 minutes, but still doesn’t work. Total crash.

    • glenn tamura May 30, 2017 at 9:17 pm - Reply

Hello… If your firestick device only has 1GB of Ram, it might not be enough memory. Most Techs will probably recommend at least 2Gb of Ram to run Kodi.

      • glenn tamura May 31, 2017 at 1:51 pm - Reply

Hi Carrie… I believe even the brand new Fire Sticks have only 1GB of RAM. You can check this by going to Kodi “System Info”, then in the “Summary”, scroll down to where it says “Memory Used”. It will probably say something like “580MB of 895MB Used”. Also, your 5GB of NAND memory would be a different type of memory than RAM memory. Think of it this way. Your RAM memory would be like memorizing a shopping list in your brain, and the NAND memory would be like writing it down and putting it in a filing cabinet (cuz your brain can only remember only so much). And, if your Fire Stick is indeed only 1GB of RAM, my suggestion would be to return it to Amazon and trade it in for a new Fire Box. It’s a little bit better because it has 2GB of RAM.

I just updated kodi and I have no close button to exit the current screen I am in? I have to escape but my computer runs through my tv and it is nowhere near me. Anyone know how to bring back my exit button 🙁

    • glenn tamura May 30, 2017 at 9:12 pm - Reply

Hi Jocelyn… The next time you boot up your Android box, (and before you startup Kodi), go to “Settings”, “Display”, then then depending on the version of Android you are using, go to Screen Position, or something like that. Then, find where it says “100%”. And then, “zoom out” to about 95%. This should show you your entire screen.

      • Jocelyn Hill May 31, 2017 at 6:24 am - Reply

I run kodi through my computer, not android. Settings was the first place I went too, I haven’t had any luck. I have googled and found right clicking on a blank area take you back to the main screen…..better than nothing

Ares Wizard is still saying this version 17.1 Krypton is unstable then why is everyone saying it is. It has not worked correctly since I installed and I cannot watch a movie without it just stopping. I’m using TopTutorials as my build. I think I’m going back to Jarvis and staying there until they say 18.1 is stable then I’ll use 17.1. Being in software development myself I’m forced to get the latest upgrades but its not been working on my Fire TV. Troy please give your insights because PULSE wont even get installed on 17.1 should we stick with 16.1 for another few months?

I updated Kodi on my android box last nite, I am not a real technical person, I followed the tutorial that came in the announcement when I turned the box on the other nite. I did get stuck in a couple spots and it took about 2 hours start to finish and some of it I am not even sure how I did it. But it seemed to be working last nite. I am looking forward to catching up on a few shows, as I haven’t been able to watch much since last week. I just hope I won’t have to do it again soon, lol.

No subtitles on Kodi 17.1 for Android (Amazon Fire TV). Subs are searchable and downloadable, but not displayed at all. Also, no 1080p movies, only HD. Performance speed hasn’t changed. All in all – a totally crappy Kodi update.

Hi, I have Kodi version 16.1 (Fire Tv) and Exodus is running extremely slow (buffering every minute) It was working great up until 3 days ago. I did a little digging on the Internet and most people are say 16.1 no longer supports Exodus that you need to upgrade to Kodi 17… is this true or is there another way to resolve the problem.

I had a fire stick and everything always loaded fine. I just got a fire tv box and there are no movies when it loads and when I follow the tutorial a lot of the options I’m supposed to click on aren’t available on my menu. I’ve uninstalled and installed five times and it does the same thing every time. I’ve tried both the Jarvis and kodi stable.

Hi Jaime, not sure what you are referring to here. The guides were recorded for 17.0 and nothing has changed from 17.0 to 17.1 in terms of the way it looks. You must h ave a different fork of Kodi installed or you are using a different skin than what 17.1 comes default with.

      • SIFlyer March 31, 2017 at 5:24 pm - Reply

The EarthCam addon does not work in the new Kodi 17.1. The problem is in the Kodi 17.1 version. Because the same EarthCam addon still works fine in the Kodi 16.1 version.

    • SIFlyer March 31, 2017 at 7:44 pm - Reply

Found the fix for the EarthCam addon to work in Kodi 17.1.

Earthcam uses the RTMP protocol which was disabled by default in Kodi 17, so no video.

To switch it back on go into SystemAdd-OnsMy add-onsVideoPlayer InputStream. Enable ‘RTMP Input’ and Eartcham should work again.
