According to an official report from ACE, the anti-piracy organization has shut down the illegal streaming sites HDFilme and xCine, which were both apparently operated out of Vietnam.
HDFilme has been in operation since 2019 under several different domains and attracted over 16 million monthly visitors.
xCine has also been operating since 2019 under different domains and provided access to more than 23,000 movies and 100,000 TV series according to ACE.
If you visit the original domains of these streaming sites, you will now be presented with the following screen from ACE.
As mentioned previously, both of these streaming websites were allegedly operated out of Vietnam, which has become a high-priority target for ACE.
Executive Vice President, Jan van Voorn, commented the following on this situation:
“Our focus on Vietnam is a key part of our ongoing efforts to reduce piracy in the Asia Pacific region and throughout the global creative ecosystem. ACE will continue to target the operators of Vietnam-based piracy services who put consumers at risk of egregious malware, undermine investment into the country, reduce tax contributions to government, and stifle creativity.”

Will Users of HDFilme or xCine be Contacted?
It’s uncertain what’s happening behind the scenes with this latest targeting of the HDFilme or xCine streaming sites.
We’ve seen pirate website operators in the past hand over user data, streaming history, and identifying IP addresses when investigated by copyright authorities. They’re also known to sell this sought-after information to other third parties.
It’s extremely important to only stream content not protected by copyright and protect yourself with the best VPN on the market today.
